caught up; chainsaw man part 2 is as blah and forgettable as people said it was.

and even the characters in his trendy one shots have more/better characterization than what's in the last 9 volumes.

Finished Homunculus. That was... certainly a manga!

 

 

Started on a very high note, but the more it kept going, the more it was losing me. In the beginning I was surprised: "Why does this manga have a horror tag? There's nothing horror about this at all", but then... it all made sense.

The story is very philosophical and made me reflect on some things about myself while the characters were facing their own mental struggles. I'd be genuinely interested in hearing interviews with the author to understand his perspective and the experiences that shaped his writing.

 

Lots of mindfuсk, lots of shock value, lots of substance.

Is it good? Perhaps not. Is it deep and thought-provoking? 100% yes.

blue lock more exciting than I expected, with better characters/development than, say, slam dunk. still prefer haikyuu.

 

though the egoist league arc seems a bit endless. it's already taken up 3 years.

gantz is the first series i've finished that gives vampire knight competition for being the most complete garbage.

 

it was sorta interesting for about 1 chapter. then we get endless mindless fights, random characters and plot twists that disappear when the author gets bored, a lot of unnecessary fanservice, a lot of sexual assault, a lot of endless yelling and crying, and an abrupt ending that goes nowhere.

Bleach Baby Hold My Hand episodes make me howling, gaggling so hard. Mayuri is so sadistic like wtf, the battle is the weirdest I've ever seen I swear I rather facing the villain than fighting this freak

Tho I've read the manga and know what will happen yet I still cried watching Nemu's death, so brutal. The soundtrack perfectly encapsulates the scene

steel ball run is...long. the novelty wore off early-ish on for me, then it was just fight after fight after fight with the race backburnered. I preferred stone ocean.

Finished Cowboy Bebop. It was good!

What I liked the most is the animation and the soundtrack. What I did NOT like about it is the episodic feel of the show - some episodes were absolutely fantastic (particularly the ones focusing on the main characters and their individual stories), while other episodes felt quite mediocre at times. The movie was great though.

 

Not my favorite anime, but I understand why it's considered a classic.

The Apothecary Diaries (anime): such a delight of a show. not only it's entertaining but also amazingly written, especially all the little mysteries that were super captivating. and well, Maomao is an incredible lead protagonist, so funny and so full of personality.

 

You and I are Polar Opposites (manga): very charming read. all the characters were so charismatic (well, except lead male guy but I've grown to love him) and the friends-group dynamics were so fun to read. it was so interesting to see side characters get some sort of development and depth, which doesn't normally occur in series like these. can't wait for the anime adaptation.

finally started Jojo's with my gf and loved the first three episodes but the next two episodes (the ones mainly about Hamon) were such a bore. we'll keep going since we see a lot of people saying the first season is the weakest though.

Dandadan season 2

 

Not sure if I liked the cliffhanger they chose to end season 1 but at least the wait won't be long

Dandadan S1 was excellent  the cliffhanger was kind of a chop but I loved the Cursed House Arc, so excited to see it animated.

I like dandadan up through the evil eye arc. after that, it's an okay shounen.

 

Finished Delicious in Dungeon. When the action amps up against the antagonist, I like it less. Less slice of life, less interesting characterizations, more stupidity, fewer recipes
