Magickarp Posted October 22 Posted October 22 LordT, I feel so old. I played nothing but Pokemon back then. I sold my launch day Switch <8 hours after buying it cuz BOTW was too scary & hard I only finished the Great Plateau I sold it on a local platform, & the local gaming forums were talking about my listing, saying it was proof Nintendo was coming to flop again 6
Heldenzeit Posted October 22 Posted October 22 Quote A user on Famiboards, going by the handle RandomlyRandom67, shared hidden details about component shipments that might be linked to the Switch 2. According to these details, the console did not enter mass production in August 2024, as previously rumored. This suggests that it is unlikely that the Nintendo Switch 2 will launch during the first quarter of 2025, as Nintendo wants to avoid the supply issues that plagued the releases of the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Initial rumors suggested that the reveal would happen sometime in October 2024, but with the month now more than halfway over and no news from Nintendo, sources are suggesting the reveal has been postponed. Some insiders claim that Nintendo initially planned to unveil the console in October, but unforeseen circumstances caused a delay. Quote However, it's possible that the console won't hit store shelves until the holiday season of 2025, depending on when the system is formally announced. x

The company is allegedly adopting a "traditionally Japanese approach" to downsizing staff, where workers are sent to rooms and given no tasks, a practice known as oidashi beya. This tactic pressures employees to resign voluntarily rather than being let go with severance. According to the report, Bandai Namco Studios has already moved 200 workers to such rooms, resulting in nearly 100 resignations. Rence Posted October 23 Posted October 23 It's getting weird. They deliberately cleared September of any announcements and released the Partner Showcase and Indie World together in August instead. They always released General Directs every September to announce games that would be released for the rest of the year + early next year, but this is the first time in 8 years that we haven't gotten one. Other than the Donkey Kong remake in January, we only have Pokemon which hasn't started its marketing cycle yet, and Metroid Prime 4 which is rumored to be a cross-gen title. I want to be hopeful but if nothing gets revealed by November 5 then I will stop clowning. It's interesting that the playtest period will end on that day tho. I hope the investors clock them for being so secretive. 2

This year was so uneventful I had to get Steam Deck because I didn't have any games to play on Nintendo. Now it's better with Zelda - Mario Party - Mario & Luigi combo but that's it

ZENO Posted October 23 Posted October 23 I thought Switch 2 was coming next spring, but I'm starting to believe it will launch during fall 2025... Pokémon Z-A is being developed as a Switch 1 game and is apparently being released between April and July. It wouldn't make sense to launch both console and big title during the same time window to me.
znake Posted October 23 Posted October 23 Nintendo wants to surpass 200 million with Switch Switch 2 announcement delayed till January
Kern Posted October 23 Posted October 23 well I'm going to buy 5 milion Switches just to return them so they can choke
ATRL Moderator feelslikeadream Posted October 23 Author ATRL Moderator Posted October 23 What's even going on with their lifetime sales? We need an update @Eternium
SlowGinFizzzz Posted October 23 Posted October 23 Wait this Brothership steelbook looks kinda cute. I'm not getting the game, but I definitely would've liked something like that for TTYD.
ZeroSuitBritney Posted October 23 Posted October 23 Waiting for my order of Echoes of Wisdom, Jamboree and Metroid Prime Remastered to arrive
ZeroSuitBritney Posted October 23 Posted October 23 Also what's the best way to play Jamboree? As in, what controller works best for it? I only have 1 set of Joycons, 1 Pro controller and 2 GameCube controllers. (and two unopened N64 switch controllers)
Kern Posted October 24 Posted October 24 https://www.ign.com/articles/nintendos-switch-online-playtest-goes-live-and-players-immediately-leak-gameplay-and-even-stream-it The playtest looks a little barebones to be considered a standalone game in its own right, although players are reporting having plenty of fun with it. Nintendo may be using the playtest with future games in mind, or perhaps it plans to flesh the test out over time with new features. Nintendo's secrecy over its playtest is almost as bizarre as the playtest itself.
Forestboy Posted October 24 Posted October 24 Finally played through most of Pokemon Scarlet, but lawd I still cannot get over how buggy and how bad the performance issues are (which is what put me off massively playing it in the first place). Sword and Shield are the supremes for the Switch 1 3
