This is the same thread that hated Willow’s entrance look when it first came out despite the obvious genius of it. You guys dont know an iconic statement even when it hits you in the face.

Symone looked hot and spectacular. This is drag at its best. You take a simple and familiar concept and you turn it to a 100. Symone took a classic street style and dragged it the **** up. And if you actually had been paying attention, that has been her MO. She did it with the durag, the press on nails, the timberland etc… So even if you don’t like the look, you at least have to give her props for staying true to herself instead of showing up in an avant-garde dress. This is that Uniqueness we all talk about but rarely see now. Probably due to the fact that fans just want to see someone glamorous or someone that looks like a monster. There are other brands of Drag in between.

It’s ok if her brand of drag isn’t your tea but calling it tragic is embarrassing and when people try to tell you why her look is phenomenal, you guys get defensive instead of trying to learn something new.

Who “won” is largely subjective unless it’s a Sasha-level stomp. I would say Camden being crunch wrap supreme in the entire finale lost her the season but others wouldn’t feel that way. 
 

At the end of the day, production is gonna crown their most marketable queen, and all contestants should know this going into the show. If they don’t.. well that’s on them. 

Now that you mention this I can see why @satellites.™connected her look wit socialism. The neoliberal entity that is Rupaul Drag Race, LLC; a for profit business, chooses its puppets based on marketability and profits over actual objective artistry and talent.  The parallels with this and the neoliberal cesspool that is the Democratic Party. The way the DNC chooses it’s primary contenders based on what Wall Street wants rather then  what the people want.  Omg shook.  if this was truly Symone’s messaging (or something similar to that) then imma have to Stan. The winner was already predictable like 8 episodes ago. The sad part is she didn’t even win the final lipsync and her solo performance wasn’t the best one either. Poor Lady Camden being robbed like that just because she didn’t fit the production’s agenda.

So I finally watched the finale and…

 

I expected willow to win based on the edit, so I’m not really surprised. The last lip sync was kinda underwhelming from both of them. Either way, it was a really likeable cast and I was happy with any of the 5 winning tbh.

 

also, I loved this look. I didn’t like how every winner coming back for the finale has the expectation of wearing a huge prosthetic avant-garde over the top show piece. This was a refreshing look for the finale and executed well. Her face looks phenomenal and the jeans are gorge!

They all get exposure during AS7, so thats already great. May the best, aka Jinks, win.

Because of the format change, AS7 is going to be fantastic exposure for the entire cast. I’m so happy for them to all reignite their already great careers again and really show off how they’ve improved since getting the money and winning.

Yeah, I agree. I’d argue that Camden has a more unique brand and persona than Rosé and Ella, but at the end of the day she’s no Willow Pill and that’s why she hasn’t won (and probably won’t win an All Stars either).

 

The sad thing is that in the earlier seasons this didn’t mean as much because the winner could solidify or even build their brand after getting the crown, but with the show being mainstream now, production wants what’s already closer to a finished marketable product instead of one that they still need to work on.
