even tho jane's "villain" behavior is running thin quick and seems forced, I ain't gonna complain cause most of the queens of past 5-6 seasons backed away from any smallest snarky comment cause of the fear of fans lashings...

enjoying some drama, even if it's cheap. Reminds me of 2-6 seasons.

exactly the earlier seasons were so good cause of how much drama and shade was thrown to each other and the messy storylines kept it entertaining af

 

Now the show is sanitized af and it just isn’t hitting as hard as it used to! We need people like Mistress, Plane and Morphine to keep it interesting and funny!

It finally seems like the queens don’t give af if fans are butthurt over them shading/reading each other. True fans of the show for a long time LOVE it and are finally catching on. The people who want them all to be lovey dovey and act like they’re perfect - this is not the show for them

In not saying anything, she kinda did say something though. She was giving the whole “if you can’t say anything nice” bit and then made it a point to show that she had nothing nice to say. It wasn’t the most entertaining but I didn’t mind it.

no it didn't read that way at all to me, it read as "I don't have an opinion / don't want to say something mean to aggravate the fans". Boring, especially when someone is probing you for questions and that's the whole point of being invited.

It was just a huge boring theater garment. It didn't give fashion, it didn't give camp, it didn't give humor... I didn't get nothing from it.

The difference with those girls and Jane is that you can tell Jane is pushing it rather than letting it flow naturally. She can’t really read well and once someone claps back she immediately starts panicking.

 

Like when Plasma lashed her from behind, you could see the FEAR in her eyes. It’s just not believable and it’s boring. Maybe she’ll settle into her villain role a bit better down the road, but in this season alone Sapphira and Morphine are better at being shady than she is.

if we wanna get into why drag race sucks now , we need to address how gullible / easy to manipulate the audience is and this comment is a good example of that.

 

i will give part of the reason for the dip in quality being that you really just can’t find people to act as genuinely as you could for like seasons 1-6, but yall seem to have a fundamental misunderstanding that “rEaDiNg = fUnNy “ when like …. it needs to come from a genuine place and from the right source of intellect, wit, and skill. Raven, Raja, Phi Phi, Willam, Sharon, Detox, Roxxy, Alyssa, Coco, Bianca, Courtney, Gia …. the people that made untucked/the season drama great back in the day , they all either had the skill set to back up their mouth , or they genuinely believed and lived in their delusion and doubled down instead of trying to explain it.

 

Jane got confronted and turned it into “i don’t think it’s a crime to have an opinion”. it’s not! but it should be a crime to be so wishywashy and say “it’s no tea”, “just my opinion”, “we can still be sisters” instead of just outright saying “your drag is busted and i don’t like you for it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯” and backtracking in confessionals that she could have worded it better nah sister if that’s your truth stand in it ! say that $h!t with your chesTUH! you can’t pine to be the villain and then do it half-assedly !! none of the other legends did

 

its so overproduced and corrrrrrrnyyyyyyyyy and tired and honestly comical coming from someone whose drag is so run of the mill.

The last look was okay but she really needed to embellish and add some jewelry. If she’d have added a silver necklace with big jewels and some rhinestones to the dress it would have been serviceable. The first look… atomic boot.

I feel this too, and the 1h 30m episodes aren't dragging. I thought S15 was a return to form because of the normal 60 minute episodes, but then once they reverted to the 1h 30m I was straining to get through the episode.

I'm not really feeling that strain yet (granted in S15, they did the 1h30m episodes with fewer girls than S16 with a full cast)

 

We'll see how it goes when it's down to top 6 and if we're still doing 1h 30 minute episodes.

I dont consider Jane to be the best at being shady. Shes just willing to be messy, which then again gives room to give birth to the true shade queens. Drags like Jane are needed for the show, pot stirrer, contestants who like to play the game
