I didn't hate this promo as much as most ppl, but this FPR made me realize that the individual looks really were not that strong

I watched with friends last night and said these exact words about Willow and Jimbo. Those performances were actually stupid, unexpected, and hilarious. This was expected, redundant, and not funny at all. “I was like eating a burger and then like wrote in my notes ‘burger finger’ bc my finger smelt like a burger so it’s just like part of my wild and crazy process lolz” girl. Shut up.

 

and Ru feeding into it like “Omggg that’s so random! How genius”. No, ru.  stop it. 
 

I know I sound jaded as hell but they are training these queens to repeat successful gimmicks instead of encouraging their creativity

Just watched the ep…

 

I was vibing with Plane Jane because of her polished entrance and the honest reads, really embracing the villain role with no hesitation, but the way I fully disconnected after the talent show… to be so uncreative to the point of regurgitating the same “you hungry mama?” phrases mid performance is insane

 

Now I feel she’s void of an actual personality and a creative mind. The snatched villain ***** is her true persona, the “am so stoopeed xP” bimbo feels forced as ****. There’s an ART to being a clown. A simple-minded ***** like her goes for the most literal surface level **** and wears a printed cutout burger. 
 

There’s a reason the answer to “how did you come up with this?” was zero witty just like the DMV segment.

The season is off to a great start. I can't wait for the inevitable bloodbath between Jane / Morphine / Sapphira.

 

Group 2 wasn't as strong as Group 1 in terms of talent but who cares when the drama has potential to be on a 10.

 

Plane Jane is amazing tv but her sense of humor is not really my thing. I hope she drops the Jumbo shtick in the next episodes and comes up with her own ideas. So far she's just being your mean bestie you watch Drag Race with.

 

I was expectig a bit more from Nymphia but even then, her star shines brighter than all the other girls combined.

We need someone on a US season on the level of Alexis Mateo and Valentina STAT. Jorgeous arguably being the best as of recent seasons is not IT! 

 

All Stats seasons don’t count either cause I would never drag Successica Wild after her STOMP on AS8.

So, thoughts on the episode: I think overall it was weaker than the first one, but more entertaining (and that's mostly because of Jane's reads and commentary). Even the talents portrayed weren't as strong as the ones in the first episode, nor were the runways or the lip sync.

 

I agree with people saying Jane's talent was a basic reenactment of Jimbo's, like those were my exact thoughts while watching the number. That being said, you gotta give her props for beings smart enough to do something like that, knowing that it'd most likely put her in the top because that's exactly what happened, Ru is predictable like that. And on top of that, her c*ntiest move was sabotaging Nymphia in the voting because if anyone could've snatched the win from her, it was Nymphia and she knew it. That's what the twist was supposed to be used for, but literally 13 out of 14 girls still have to understand after all these years that this is not RuPaul's Best Friend Race and you gotta give production something to make good TV out of.

 

My personal favorites talent-wise were Nymphia and Mhi'ya, but the latter had a very weak runway look and was lowkey sabotaged in the voting (not sure why, a few queens put her on the lower half of the list so maybe there's something we haven't seen). Nymphia's number was simply ethereal and easily top 1 of the week, along with her runway (which I didn't like at first for being another banana thingy, but when she kept revealing I loved it). Plasma did good, I enjoyed both her talent and runway, Hershii's talent was ok but her runway was beautiful, Geneva's talent was meh and so was her runway, Megami's talent was absolutely bottom 1 of the week (Jane's read said everything that needed to be said) and her runway was cool but not really a reveal.

 

Lip sync was cute, but it was actually a little embarrassing for Geneva to be so mediocre in front of her fave. I liked Jane's lip sync style, as someone else said it's what I'd expect from Jimbo if she was able to perform like that.

 

Can't wait for next week when the two groups meet. Particularly excited to see Sapphira, Morphine, Mirage and Jane interact
