That was a weird way to phrase it but I think they've only use this stage because it can accomodate a larger crowd that the usual main stage.

It would feel too big to be used when there's only the 4 judges.

Also: weird move to introduce the official new main stage at the tail end of the season, keep the grand reveal for a premiere!

I know that they filmed it way earlier than they normally do because of the strikes. The guild that works on shows like this had not gone on strike but they didn't want to chance it so they moved things around. I don't know if we are getting an ACTUAL reunion or not. this would be the season to have one since there's a bunch of tea to be spilled.
