for me at least, jinkx and monet had done pretty much evenly by the end of as7 - jinkx had more moments where she was the best of the week, but also flopped twice bc of the design challenges. monet has less moments at the top, but also never stumbled THAT horribly aside from maybe fairytale court and the draguation speeches. by the end, they were neck and neck, so judging solely by the lipsync, monet def deserved, but jinkx also absolutely deserved her win anyway saur

Imagine wasting 14 episodes doing challenges left and right if the winner of a season had to be decided by a single lipsync. They could save a lot of time by doing single episodes where everyone is lipsyncing against each other and call it a day, I guess.

 

My point still stands ‘cause Monét was payola-d to death in at least one situation: it’s either her crowning on AS4 or her top placement in AW. The only debatable thing is if she was payola-d both times.

Well nobody couldve foreseen THAT level of assassination during the final lipsync. Its for a reason to this day THE lipsync of the show + Sasha is a phenomenal winner who uses her exposure to raise awarness for drag culture and do good

girl bc that was clearly an undeniable win that was witnessed by an audience. What Sasha did was genius and shook the whole format, Monét was clearly not hence it can easily be edited out.

Sasha winning S9 was the exception, not the rule which is always fun to witness. Her gag changed the course of the entire franchise. No amount of challenge wins could save Shea or anyone else after being demolished like that in the lipsync. It's literally the only time the lipsync mattered.
