Luner45 Posted September 8, 2023 Posted September 8, 2023 So I tested positive for covid AGAIN for the third time. On day 4 and my symptoms are gone but I'm still positive on rapid tests. Since I'm in Ontario I guess that means I caught the Eris (EG 5.1) variant. Glad it was mild but this puts me back to March until I'm eligible for the new covid shots (I believe Health Canada will follow the 6 month rule between last shot/infection).

Vermillion Posted September 14, 2023 Posted September 14, 2023 Reading reports of pharmacies being fully booked next week in several major cities in the States. I managed to snag a Moderna of the new shipment this Saturday, but I'm in the suburbs.
Devin Posted September 15, 2023 Posted September 15, 2023 DeathSantis telling FL folks not to get the vaccine.
Vermillion Posted September 17, 2023 Posted September 17, 2023 I managed to snag the Moderna booster and feel fine, but it's fully booked out a week and a half from now and they aren't filling out your shot cards anymore. You have to get a printout at CVS if you want the Lot # for medical records for your PCP if there's an issue. Medicare's apparently not covering it yet but Medicaid is (most plans?). Most private insurance I think is fine though there's been some hiccups.
Devin Posted September 17, 2023 Posted September 17, 2023 I wanna get my booster but everywhere I go is booked.
PoisonPill Posted September 18, 2023 Posted September 18, 2023 From last week: CIA whistleblower testified to Congress that the team investigating the virus origin almost unanimously concluded that it came from a lab leak, but then were pressured/bribed by CIA officials to change their findings. https://oversight.house.gov/release/testimony-from-cia-whistleblower-alleges-new-information-on-covid-19-origins/
I♥Toronto Posted September 21, 2023 Posted September 21, 2023 I lost my health insurance because I lost my job. My husband just signed up for insurance (he was on mine) and I couldn't be added because it would cost twice as much to add me and would make us broke, so I can't get insurance until I get a new job. I was googling if boosters are still free for everyone or if I would be charged for not having insurance. I'm getting mixed results and I'm confused. I see that it could still be free and some say it could cost over $100. Is it a regional thing? By manufacturer? I'm so lost right now.

Genius1111 Posted September 25, 2023 Author Posted September 25, 2023 (edited) Quote This is a natural result of vaccines being successful for so long. The people who've lived in the days before widespread vaccinations are near the end of their lives if they are alive at all. Society is primarily made up of people with no direct experience of how things used to be and these people tend to ignore history. It's sad, but people will have to learn the hard way why vaccinations are important. A lot of people will suffer and die because people are too stupid and lazy to read up on this sort of thing. It's not just the antivaxers who'll suffer. When enough people aren't vaccinated, herd immunity is not achieved. The vulnerable will be hit the hardest. Quote Look, scientific research about a new phenomena takes time before a base of really undisputable facts has been established. One of the reasons for why I personally think many people have gone full anti-vaxx lizard people is that they were communicated semi-reasonable scientific theories at the time as absolute facts, which was a huge mistake in my opinion. Scientific research is difficult. Consensus changes. Consensus especially changes when you encounter a completely new thing and basically need to figure everything out within like 18 months. For everything that was communicated as God's holy truth by politicians (which is a major problem here), at the time it was current, yet changed over time, people got pushed a little more and more to the side of hyper-irrational skepticism, scientific denialism and contrarianism for every time it happened. Genius1111 Posted September 25, 2023 Author Posted September 25, 2023 The WHO probably already knows the answer; they just need to confirm.
