Is Rick really about to be L.A.'s next mayor? I don't get why all the celebs are endorsing him when he's clearly a grifter.ย :toofunny3:

It's between Bass and Caruso, but Caruso endorsements might boost him up a bit -- but luckily grassroots and infographics are raising awareness of why a Caruso term is bad though.

ย

I just turned in my ballot and considering it's a primary election, I voted for Gina Viola for mayor in the primaries because out of all the candidates, she aligns with my goals and ideas more but at the end of the day, it's a primary and like the goal is really making sure Caruso doesn't get the majority honestly. People don't realize that these elections affect you more than you think.ย

The best thing about this is Kevin De Leรณn flopping with voter polls, he is so uninteresting and a fraud.ย :lmao:

I'm glad my mail-in ballots have all gotten accepted, given that I can't confirm exactly which signature of mine is the "correct" one that they want nnn (apparently the one on my first Driver's License)

ย

Gina got my vote in the primary, but I'm not gonna vote for a police simp in the generalย

Honestly all the candidates except Gina aren't convincing me, honestly... I don't even like Kevin De Leon and he's so pretentious. The sheds he implemented aren't going to solve homelessness and it's so performative. But, he's a councilmember and replaced Huizar who got arrested for corruption and fraud. Kevin de Leonย polling numbers serving Familia debut numbers, so that council district is truly ******.

ย

I like the idea of giving people access to mail-in ballots permanently is a right step in the direction.

ย

The progressive guide I got from someone I got from social media really helped so I just followed that.ย

Yes, Kevin deserves to flop. And Gina's tweets about her outpolling the LAPD officer who's running are SO iconic :lmao:ย that's a win in itself. Imagine bombing THAT BAD after selling your soul as a corrupt establishment-backed candidate (Lamb losing every county in Pennsylvania teas :oh:)

ย

I love that picture of Gina too, serving bad ***** (who's here to make America a better, greener place!) energy a la Dr. Jill Stein

ย

jill-stein.jpg

ย

I used 2 progressive guides nnn, I think we used the same one :clap3:

Posted (edited)

And speaking of Dr. Stein, I love those rare moments where part of the establishment sides AGAINST their peers (aka the rest of the establishment): Examples include (1) Biden and Klobuchar defending Bernie when the debate moderator brought up Hillary attacking him in an unhinged fashion and (2) this CNN host being on Dr. Stein's side after Hillary, again, attacked her in an unhinged fashion

ย

ย

Letting her speak, no loaded questions, etc ... Smerconish did thaT (he may be tragic elsewhere, so I'll emphasize *in this interview*). And Dr. Stein's drags calling Hillary unhinged, preposterous, and not based in fact, I mean tea :lmao:ย and even Hillary's fellow establishment people like Biden, Klobuchar, and Smerconish can understand that because she says a lot of BS out of spite (her having to apologize after backlash for saying she's unwilling to endorse Bernie if he won the Dem primary comes to mind)

Very dismayed by the current backlash against LGBT people/pride & especially trans people and how it seems to be leading somewhere pretty dark. The right has got better at culture war stuff, and we are not winning at the momentย :mazen:

The right wing has a lot of money too and I feel like a lot of us in the LGBTQ+ circles just have no clue what to do about this besides sharing slide shows on social media and continue to live our lives. A terrible law gets passed, there's some protest about it, but I don't really see a proper strategy to get out there and fight against all of this because it's not affecting the lesbian/gay majority (for now). Since it's mostly an attack towards transgender, non-binary and gender non-conforming people, they're being left to fend for themselves.

ย

Sometimes I wonder if I'm just too online or are these monsters really reaching that far out to the public? And then I remember these idiots are already making laws and decrees designed to demonize us and disturb our peace.

ย

It even happened in my country last year when "sexual orientation" was removed from the non-discrimination and aggravated torture provisions from the proposed Penal Code. The hostile message was clear and we protested a lot about it. Thankfully the that proposed Penal Code didn't pass, largely due to other controversial abortion and corruption provisions.ย

I'll vote for Bass in the general since it is clear that if there is a general it'll be her and Caruso. Not thrilled with her policing positions and in a best case scenario she'll probably just be a slight upgrade from Garcetti, but this is def one of those cases where I'm not going to give a throwaway vote and risk having that idiot Caruso as mayor.

ย

I'm all for voting third party and I'll likely do so in the next presidential election, but I also believe in recognizing cases like this (mainly local elections where things are really close) where a harm reduction vote is more important to me than taking a firm stance over an issue I disagree with.ย

Posted

This KDL canvasser he reposted was dragging Kenneth Meija and his CPA license questionability and let me just say they need to give it up when De Leรณn is flopping in the polls.ย :rip:ย Serving Familia first week numbers honestly.ย
ย

Meija was very transparent about the city council budget and where the money is going so and it's mostly policing while various sectors are underfunded. Koretz failed to acknowledge most of the funding and is very anti-housing.

He could clear the permit for the Keystone XL Pipeline. That would bring a tremendous amount of oil and related jobs to the US market. I understand the environmental concerns regarding it, but the country really needs that resource now. It would bring so much oil that they could sell it to Europe too. That would help cut ties with Russia.

Keystone XL would literally not affect current prices by even a single cent. It would only be a virtue signal to the far right (who are the only ones who want it, and wouldnโ€™t even give Biden credit for giving the finger to the left anyway). Any impacts on price wouldnโ€™t happen until a Republican is in charge, which would beโ€ฆ dare I say, by design.

Of course, given how non competitive Iowa is, (especially looking at how easily Joni Ernst cleaned up afterโ€ฆ publicly not knowing the price of corn :toofunny3:), they were simply running to see who would be giving Chuck Grassley the easiest re-election of his entire career, but oh well! Always good to see conservative ****-Dems like Finkenauer lose. :clap3:

From NYT:ย

Quote

Ultimately the election was a contest between progressive Democrats who saw Mr. Boudin as a key leader of a national movement to address mass incarceration and a backlash by more politically moderate San Franciscans โ€” a coalition of Democrats, independents and Republicans โ€” who grew agitated by persistent property crimes and open drug use during the pandemic. The backlash won.

Hillary may have won if she did that in 2016 lol. Instead of picking a popular politician who won states that she needed (and lost) in the general like Michigan and Wisconsin to be VP, she picked the irrelevant and milquetoast Tim Kaine :skull:

The way Tim Kaine was picked specifically to be a middle finger to the progressive wing. :skull:ย
ย

EDIT: saw this and thought of you, lol. We donโ€™t use her anymore of course, but a broken clock can be right twice a day I guess

Hillary would rather have lost to Trump than win with Bernie as VP because she's a petty, spiteful ***** (I would know! But at least I'm not like that to kind, philanthropic working-class champions )ย

ย

I mean, Jimmy Carter is kicking Biden's ass (and pretty much everyone's) in the YouGov popularity poll, but idk, is that an outlier? She's definitely correct on that tho

ย

bgfvPpl.jpg

ย

Ugh, then why would you endorse him especially with Bernie still in the race, Tulsi? She went from that to nowadays ruthlessly dragging him constantly and even implying he's a domestic enemy that should be overthrown the other day in her speech at the Conservative Summit (standing ovations and all - we can all admit she's better at public speaking than Kamala and Biden lol)

ย

But yes: Queen of dragging neolibs (and according to Google, Bernie is the king of that :oh:)

ย

eF9miJN.jpg

ย

She still has populist, anti-establishment energy (so like ... I would rather listen to that than listen to "ministry of truth" establishment Biden), but unfortunately that energy has a rightward lean now.

ย

(She deadass said "neocon/neolib" as a drag in that speech the other day lol, literally same)

I think at one point, Tulsi was aiming to be VP. She was basically behaving as Bidenโ€™s attack dog when she ruthlessly took down Kamala and ended her presidential aspirations (hihi,ย :oh:). That all ended when Hillary called her a Russian asset and unfairly destroyed her viability with the Democratic Partyโ€™s base, which is ultimately why I believe sheโ€™s headed down the path sheโ€™s on now, abandoning her beliefs that actually made her likeable. :katie:
ย

Maybe she was still holding onto that hope heโ€™d reward her loyalty, but instead he went with the woman who cried โ€œThat little girl was me!โ€ and called him a racist on live TV.
