Kamala lost because she's a black woman, and the racist, sexist Latino men couldn't bear the idea of voting for her. It's that simple.

It's too early to be thinking about 2028, we have to see how Republicans perform in the midterms when Trump is not on the ballot to have a clearer picture of how things stand.

Pritzker is not DOA. I think he's gonna start rising to the top.

Polls were saying Kamala was within reach of winning and had even a slight chance. She lost every swing state and by six digits in every single one except for Wisconsin and Michigan.

Β

Ann Selzer disqualified herself from ever being taken seriously ever again with how far off her final poll was.

Β

My point was that yes, the polls indicated Trump would win, but they didn't capture how comfortable and dominant that win would be. Or how throughly crushed and embarrassed Kamala would be.

Β

And she's the likeliest to win the 2028 nomination, yet her unelectability problems that she's had since 2019 will not be going away, so we're going to be sleepwalking into disaster yet again.

While that's true, I don't think theΒ gapΒ in those swing states was significant enough to say the polls were that off if that makes sense. This is a fairly pedantic point though cause I know you and I mostly agree. The polls weren't as egregiously off as many suggest.

The suggestion that Latino men are inherently more racist and sexist than other groups of people is ridiculous. Mexico is the only North American country with a female president.

Not really a surprise that Edan was only released based on a lie from an unreliable admin.

But nobody is strategizing.

Also, just feels important to remind everyone that this centrist tirade of "not enough respect given to our black elders!!!" across social media this week all started with Beltway media mad that David Hogg wants to just give some young politicians some money, and that thankfully has started off with a very progressive young black man.

Β

This is apparently upsetting to some centrist black gatekeepers!

Β

I think Robert is a stand up guy!

Biden Old is why we have a Trump presidency again to begin with, in case you're wondering. There were a number of candidates who weren't borderline dementia patients, but the Democratic Primary voters were stupid enough to say no to all of them.

Maybe he wouldn't sound bad on the recording if he wasn't... you know... actually a frail, addled, and confused sundowning dotard every single day of his pre-term candidacy and while actually being president.

If Democrats just stopped defending the extremely unpopular President and disparaging the leakers, the news cycle would stop! Have the humility to be like "Yeah we ****** up!" It would be refreshing in light of the current administration that will never admit when it's wrong! High profile Democrats kept telling the public that democracy itself was on the line, but then when the Democratic base demanded literally any other person to defeat Trump and save said democracy, Democrats told them to shut up, they're stupid, the polls lie, and protecting geriatrics' egos was more important so long as Biden gives it his best shot. Most people wouldn't trust the feeble old man to watch their own dog, but trust Jill Biden that he's sharp as a tack behind closed doors and can serve out the most powerful position in the world through the age of 86. And then when Nancy gave the order for Biden to drop out that couldn't be ignored, they anointed Kamala without a primary.

He sounds like every other old ass 80 year old man on the recording πŸ˜‚

Β

we could just solve this whole issue by having age limits. Biden and Trump were and are too old to be holding the office of President.Β

If you want to admit you’re not paying attention to the countless protests against the current administration, just say that. I’ve personally been to several and the baseless claim that there have been no protests is exhausted and incorrect.Β

The push back so far this term though isn't anything close to what we were seeing during his first term early on. Β The public has given up on holding Trump and his admin accountable. But so has every institution as well so I can't blame em.Β
Β

maybe that will change though. We shall seeΒ

That's the problem lol.

Β

And we can argue there's a double standard around Trump - there is with everything he does - but for whatever reason, Trump just doesn't code as "too old" to people. His voice isn't weak like Biden's. He's not slow moving like Biden. His erraticism probably makes him look lively. He's everywhere all the time.

Well, the Democratic Party was also pushing back a lot more so there was more alignment between the DemocraticΒ voting base and the Democratic Party itself in the aesthetic of β€œresisting” Trump. Now? The Democratic voters are still turning out to protests and pushing back and the Democrat Party is on mute. So, of course, there’s going to be more ire at the Democratic Party for falling short.Β
Β

It is silly to pretend that frustration with the party shouldn’t be vocalized when they’re actively falling short of expectations.

This has saved Trump since his first term. Which is sad.Β
Β

I did go back the other day and watch some old debate clips from him and Hillary and my god he looks and acts 20 years older now. Yet some in the public can't see itΒ πŸ’€

That goes back to... the nomination of Merrick Garland as the Attorney General who was supposed to have been the one to hold him accountable. And who was he nominated by?

Β

Oh yeah. Joe Biden. Funny how every single failure somehow can be linked back to him :ahh:Β

That's the problem though. A lot of Democrats on Twitter and BlueSky have been spending the last few days attacking the free press for the crime of... reporting what they should have arguably as far back as 2019, but held back because they feared an ascendant Bernie Sanders and Biden was the only one with the standing in polls in order to prevent that from happening.

Β

What's galling is that Tapper was fully immersed in the cover-up, as he would behave like an attack dog whenever anyone dared to call Biden's cognitive health into question.Β  Now here he is, acting all precious as though he wasn't... literally bathed in the kind of activity he's reporting on. lmao.

Garland was such a dumb choice. Like they thought Β it was some big "gotcha" to the gop yet he was a dud. πŸ’€

I gave him the benefit of doubt at first but he quickly proved to be weak.Β

I knew he would be from the start. The reason anyone even knows his name is because Obama literally chose him as a "compromise" to Mitch McConnell thinking it'd make him look ridiculous for refusing even holding hearings for his nomination process.

Β

I said back then that Doug Jones would have been a much better choice. His successful prosecution of the Birmingham church bombing is an all-time standout. And yet Joe Biden went with the appeal to nostalgia for Obama-era centrism instead. Weak. Pathetic. Abhorrent.

You can't really say it's done and over with if they still plan to behave in 2028 like they have since the 90's with third way neoliberalism. These discussions keep being brought up because so far they haven't shown that the party at large has actually learned from their mistakes

Tea, and when I am agreeing with Mrs. Communion you KNOW it must be true :)Β
