Good sis be blessed and don't look. Nothing is saving it, and honestly, if it takes a loss for people to wake up, I'm happy losing the money.

Your earlier prediction of Dow Jones falling 3 point might be underestimate. It's now down 4.5.ย :deadbanana:

The same can be said for progressives. (And I don't mean that aggressively). The reason why Dems continue to do well despite not embracing progressive policies is because the majority of potential Dem voters are moderates. The voting base aren't secret progressives that are just waiting for someone to activate them and politics is a lot more about 'voting against, than for'. 2016 was voting against the establishment, 2020 was voting against Trump, 2024 was voting against Inflation/Rising costs and 2028 will be about voting against the after affects of Trumps 2nd Term.

ย

Dems didn't lose because they didn't embrace progressive positions (which btw I think they should, I don't disagree with progressive ideals, just the messaging/snobbery of a lot of the louder voices of the movement) they lost because voters experienced a good economy under Trump and pressed against inflation/food costs took another chance along with the Dems vote being depressed by Palestine boycotts and such.

ย

Because when the topic at hand is something like 'Trump decided to nuke Alaska' or some ****, instead of holding the responsibility at the feet of the person directly responsible, we instead get Whataboutisms about the previous admin that aren't credible. It's like saying a friend that knew his friend had too much to drink and then ran someone over is actually more responsible for the incident than the person that drunk and drove. Thats what you all are like when Everytime it goes back to 'But Biden' while showing you don't actually care about the topics your comment on as you don't even engage with the actual issue or the CURRENT ADMIN doing these actions. ย
ย

The root issue for a lot of you is that Progressives want to eradicate Democrats then wonder why the Turkeys won't support or root for Thanksgiving.ย
ย

But by this logic, you can argue that progressives are responsible for everything that has happened post 2016 by bringing about the material conditions that splintered the Democratic Party thus enabling Republicans to consolidate power. (Which I don't agree withโ€ฆ.mostly)
ย

Even this comment above with a little redirection can be used against you. How can progressives withhold their votes as noble when it enables the crashing of the economy, wiping out people's savings and retirements, slashing of benefits which mean children starve, the dismantling of people's rights etc.

ย

And that last sentence sums it up perfectly. Only DEMS can stop this. If I could flip a switch and have the Dem party be all Bernie's and AOCs I would, but that is a long way off and what some people don't get is burning down the house doesn't mean the owner signs it over to you, the damn house is gone and the owner still isn't gonna give you that land.

ย

I stopped reading at "the reason dems continue to do well" โ€ฆ. When they lost by a landslide to the most unpopular incumbent of all time and lost control of courts, house, senate and White House. They're literally the biggest losers and shoddiest political party in the world. The word incompetent losers doesn't say enough. They are the worst opposition I have ever seen to an extremely conservative government. They are rolling over to die.ย
ย

Hunny the dems did this to themselves. The progressives predicting it does not = them being responsible. They reached out many times on middle ground candidates like Bernie who by American standards is far left but would be considered centre left anywhere else in the world. His policies are just human rights everywhere else. Like he says - they're not crazy ideas - they're more of the same in countries that take care of their citizens. AOC and Bernie again are the strong opposition to this government - yet Dems will continue to "do well" by destroying their momentum and offering Zionist and unpopular candidates. Oh well.ย

Except Schumer term isn't up until 2028 :deadbanana4:

Bye, I forgot this :rip:

ย

Schumer will be almost 78 by then. I wonder if he'll just step aside (I know, I know, that's being way too charitable to the egotistical gerontocracy)

The strong jobs report is the only thing probably keeping the market from tumbling further.

More likely the DNC will either brute force Schumer back in by any means necessary (hammering the primary voters with polling data showing AOC losing to a Republican candidate even if the numbers are fudged and made up) or bullying AOC out of even running by reminding her she pledged not to back any primary challenges against an incumbent Democrat for that House leadership position that they pulled out all the stops to prevent her from getting, which would include herself primarying Schumer.

I guess the jobs report effect is wearing off. Now it's really falling.ย Dow dropped further 0.8% in just 20 minutes.ย :dancehall:

Never. It doesn't matter how bad things get. We had single day drops over twice as bad in March 2020 and it didn't change the perception of him on the economy at all.

But that was different. This is self-inflicted.ย :rip:ย I don't have any faith that they will turn on him anytime soon though.ย

Wellโ€ฆ my anecdotal evidence above proves you wrong! Heheย

If Schumer thinks he's going to lose a primary challenge, he's just going to announce his retirement to avoid the embarrassment. He's already in his 70s.
