This implies that she lost only because she's a black woman when Joe Biden, the white man, would have lost by way more. That much is known through concrete evidence. Enough of the gaslighting and come to the realization that Joe Biden was her problem, and she did nothing to disavow him when he was literally the most hated president of all time, which directly led to her also being the most hated VP of all time.

Biden checking his watch at the soldiers who died in Afghanistan's transfer was news for months and still referenced today. But Trump blows them off to play golf (which he's flown to FL every single weekend since January 20th ) with a Saudi back LIV golf tournament that he will make money off of. It's just a wild double standard that will not get picked up. I have creeped in the comments on twitter of people posting about it and some of the MAGA accounts are asking for community notes if it's true so I guess they're trying to be a little aware, but sadly they still won't care.

The scope of what you're saying is too small here, sis.

 

They were right that Biden becoming president would lead to an unmitigated disaster (it did.) because he was clearly not fit for the job, and that led to the chain of events that lead to the Trump/Republican sweep. So yes, they were right, all the way back in 2019 to now. 

 

They were right about how Democrats playing by the rules and saying their hands are completely tied when it comes to things like Dobbs, student loans, minimum wage, etc. and then just moving along would cause the base to become demoralized. 

 

They were right about how running a Republican-friendly campaign while shutting out effective voices like Walz's would lead to people staying home instead of voting.

 

They were right about how Harris was an inherently poisonous candidate who never had any chance to win. You can say it was because she was a black woman, but the reason doesn't really matter, only that she was never going to win. 

 

And can you quit with the pointing at Gaza for the only reason progressives feel she lost? They have been giving a laundry list of other reason why Democrats were heading towards a catastrophic 2024 election long before October 7th when this became a hot topic again. Your inane focus on that one point is starting to come across as unhinged. Their main point with that was that support for a genocide is wrong and that's that, because well, supporting genocide IS wrong and they personally didn't want to support that! The end. It was actually progressives making the points that people would not vote to defend women's or LGBTQ rights because they do not feel personally affected by it and don't feel galvanized to protect those rights when they feel their economic concerns are not being heard by the Biden admin saying "we are totally not in a recession and all is well!" 

 

The weird leftist hate boner is just so strange to me. It feels more like stubborn contrarianism than a legitimate ideological break between what they're saying. It's this need to double down on hating them when they *have* been correct for a long time now. I also don't feel bad for canvassing for Harris or trying my best to get her elected, and none of them have shamed me for my vote or actions in supporting her. They have even said, multiple times, that their protest votes would likely have little effect on the election, and that it would be a demoralized base that would lose for Harris… and well, that did happen.

 

I get sometimes the chronically online 🌹 accounts on Twitter are annoying and preachy, but that's kind of the nature of social media. Far left, center left, center, center right and far right are all made up of insufferable egos, it's suffocating. But if you can look past the ego, there are many great points being made by the left, and to be honest, this thread does a good job of laying them out without it seeming like clout farming. 

 

But yes, at least everyone is finally waking up to the failures that make up the Democratic Party. There is a sweet irony in calling Americans, comments mostly targeted at MAGA/Republicans, dumb sheep then continuously supporting the Dems as they are now, and have been since 2008, as they continue to rely on Republican failures to win elections rather than make any meaningful changes.

That, and that she didn't stand for anything. 
 

She campaigned with someone who's family is despised by the American public and was thrown out by her constituents. 
 

She was already a bad candidate who drew no support in her previous run for office. 
 

She came off as fake, and the ads showing that she stood for nothing were completely accurate. 
 

Clinging to her in 2028 would show that democrats are not serious, when they'll have a very real chance to win bigly if Trump succeeds in destroying the country. 
 

It wasn't just being tied to Biden that made her suck, and yes, I did cheer her on and loved her campaign essentially till her DNC speech

Yep, I sent it to my MAGA mom and told her that this woman is a reporter with her favorite channel Fox News and my mom just gave the excuse that it's okay because Trump couldn't back out of an already planned event because it would make him look bad.  She's more worried about how it would make him look to miss an event at Mar-a-Lago. As you said, stubbornness and fealty to their king that does no wrong.

"Kamala's electability was hurt by nature of her being a black woman" is something that's true - but not true enough to have swung the election in my opinion - but does us no favors pointing out. Because the vast majority of people who have implicit biases against black women don't think of themselves as racist or misogynistic. And the ones who are those things won't openly identify that way. Just like with Hillary, many people thought she was "shrill", there was just "something about her", she was "unlikable", but good luck convincing them that they're sexist.

 

Dismantling people's prejudices and biases is an arduous generational process. But it's much more productive to focus on the gettable people who didn't vote for Kamala than the few who will always find some reason not to vote for a woman (at least on the Democratic side).

Honestly I've come to the conclusion that even global economic ruin won't sway them. Once a dem is back in charge and the economy starts climbing again they'll say "see this was the trump boom all along!" 💀

There is zero value in continually litigating why Kamala lost at this point. The only focus should be on expunging Trump from public office and on holding him and all his cronies accountable for what they have done to Americans and to the world - that is where all the oxygen and energy must go.

Plus yesterday they mentioned several times that Trump is doing this for the working class. And saying things like "F* the Wall Street" and "I don't care about my 401k today." I wish the people watching could see through the spin but I fear they don't.

 

Personally, I don't really find joy in seeing the market crash knowing that low income and middle class people will be hurt the most like they always are in these things. But maybe this needs to happen for people to look for other options in the next election.

We will have at least a 10% decline, and if you keep your investments stead and don't change, up to a 30%. 30% and under, as bad as it is to say, is what's expected with this admin. If we go more than 30% down, we are probably all about to be or are already jobless.
