They don't give a **** about voting for any members of that place called Congress, or any governor. The only wanted trump (the majority of the swing senate races showed that). 

Yeah, I believe that's the case. I don't know why it's not bringing me a lot of hope though. It's basically like all they have to do is transfer Trump enthusiasm to another looney right winger, which they haven't managed to do yet and it's easier said than done, but everything always seems to go the wrong way lately. All it takes is a dash of "charisma" and this country is willing to send us off a cliff.

 

Everyone should take my negativity with a grain of salt though, I started a new job today and I work at 6am so I'm probably just a little pessimistic today dd Hopefully this means that the House is back in the hands of Dems and maybe we can hold a couple senate seats, particularly Ossoff's.

Dems winning in either special election in Florida was borderline impossible. Wisconsin Supreme Court results will be way more telling, and way more important

Well it's also worth keeping in mind that we are only a little over two months into Trump's Presidency. The national environment is basically unchanged since Trump was elected. He's more or less just as popular now as he was then (he had a honeymoon boost upon inauguration and that's settled back down). It'll be interesting to see what happens in the midterms if Trump is still pretty popular but we're dealing with non-Presidential elections without his name on the ballot (and will there be another Dobbs-level event to motivate turnout on either side?).

I keep forgetting it's literally only been 2 months. It feels like time has basically stalled since Harris joined the race.  

 

I'd like to think that Trump's popularity won't hold, but things really do have to get worse for that to happen. People aren't bothered by the lack of decorum anymore. I don't even know that these tariffs are going to go through, and if they don't, what's going to change people's minds?

I saw a post on Bluesky by a black man that said America won't revolt against this administration until majority of white people start to feel negative effects and want to do something about it. Until then he's minding his business and going on with life.

Ossoff launching his campaign from the left (tackling corruption) gives me little bits of hope for the future of the Dem party. Not talking about bipartisanship and hunting down the illegals. 
 

Also the fact that he's not an AIPAC shill and is indeed, attractive does make him a contender worth voting for should he run for president

Some people are expecting the bottom to fall out for Trump way too quickly. I remember Biden's approval holding strong for months and it felt like the GOP couldn't make anything stick until the Afghanistan debacle. 

 

The economy will likely tank Trump in the end because his regime has put forward NOTHING to make life more affordable for the American people. However, it's going to take time before people realize it. He's being given the benefit of the doubt right now.
