2024 US Election Megathread ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ›๏ธ

I went to get groceries this morning and there were no eggs (only a couple dozen of cage free brown eggs). Some elderly man was talking to an employee seeing if they had any in the back and she told him they didn't get a full shipment in this week and he started fussing to her about that and she said there's not much she can do because management said there's a shortage right now from factories. :deadbanana:ย Guess when Trump said lower eggs costs he meant remove them all together. :deadbanana:ย Also, groceries are still high if not higher than November 2024.ย

Between the bird flu and people not caring to find out how inflation works, I've lost nearly all my patience on willful ignorance regarding egg prices. No there is no adjustment in just days, that's not how any of this works.

I noticed the produce section was lacking too, but it was not as bad as the egg section. I have not seen the store like that since around Covid.ย

It's funny how the right called leftists and libs "the actual racists" for pointing out the effects that mass deportations would have on the average grocery store produce section, butโ€ฆ here we are :rip:ย

@FameFataleย Tapper apparently implied to Haberman on CNN that Biden likely secretly pardoned himself and got no pushback.

ย

I don't disagree but I was expecting a TruthSocial lead-in to something of that affectโ€ฆ

Not to mention mortgage prices and a tighter window for home loansโ€ฆ

Its not just that, fields are beginning to be empty, migrants aren't going to work anymore

So what will Americans (those who voted for Trump) do when mass deportation is in full effect for 6+ months and they realize prices are not going up, houses are not cheaper, and they don't have more money in their pockets....

They will still vote against their interest.ย

I'm ready for that one but there's gonna be some new wild conspiracy and excuses that pop up

A good 40 percent of the country won't care. Trump will tell them actually America is great again and they'll believe it. A bunch of people were well-off enough the last four years that they never suffered the effects of inflation to begin with. They made off like bandits as their home values surged. They relocated to cheaper areas amidst Covid WFH policies. They continued to reap the benefits of a flourishing stock market despite being told that their 401Ks and portfolio were doing poorly. With Trump back, they'll simply invest more and take more notice of how well they're actually doing in this economy, it'll become a self-fulfilling prophecy, and they'll thank Trump for fixing things. And with Trump showboating with things like annexing Canada, Greenland, and Panama or renaming the Gulf of Mexico or attacking gender ideology, the masses will continue cheering him on like obedient clapping seals for owning the libs / making their enemies suffer, distracting them from the fact that eggs are still not cheaper. But at least he's giving them bread and circuses.

ย

So it will probably come down to that remaining 10% of his share of the electorate that are really suffering and whether or not they break out of that trance in the next few years.

Wait, was this lady the annoying Biden dead-ender during the 2020 primaries or am I thinking of someone different? :deadbanana:

Honestly that's the right attitude for him to have since Mitch will no longer be a senator after next year. Republicans haven't really stopped winning. The fact that they got away with a Beer Hall Putsch with zero consequences is a massive W for them, and by extension a horrifying indictment of the Democrats.

ย

The fact that Fetterman is seriously being discussed means we're actually ******* doomed
