It starts with actually changing policy proposals, not targeting wealthy moderates and not hiring folks like Uber's legal chief but it doesn't look like they're interested. If the DNC's completely shameless and has no interest in Gen Z at all they'll go with Josh Shapiro as predicted and lose. If they try to have some backbone but back down to the egos it'll be Gavin Newsom, and they'll lose. If they try to push unconventionally they'll go with Andy Beshear whose appeal won't translate at all outside Kentucky and they'll lose. Another wild card with foreign policy that will further divide the left I have a sneaking suspicion will try is Mark Kelly who will also lose. Picking insurance heiress Gretchen Whitmer post Luigi-martyrdom is also a non-starter.

I think it's too early to have any real sense of who this could be bc we are only 4 days in, and it's clear the US will not be the same in 2028 as it was in 2024. 3. I don't think it's realistic to think any one candidate is going to bring unity to the party. That feels like an unrealistic goal that will keep giving Republicans the win. Everyone on the left needs to learn compromise. Our country is too big with too many varying wants and needs. 1
