Pod Save Bros and elected Democrats' messaging only reaches Resist libs on Bluesky.

Which is why cloistering into the insular echo chamber of BlueSky would be a fatal error, and liberals on here, Twitter, and Reddit are willingly falling into that trap like the lemmings they are.

"Elon won the information war, so let's cede even more ground to him." Great plan :juanny:

Reminder that Biden as president deported more people than Trump dining his first term.

If mass deportations genuinely upset you, then you should be able to consistently call it out when "your side" does the same thing

I think there's a lot of nuance to unpack here. Such as Trump dealing with the Covid pandemic and impeachment proceedings during his first term which he won't have to deal with this time.

The reports coming to light from this week's ICE raids and immigration policy changes are alarming and only more time will reveal the exact harms.

Thanks for pushing back. We are watching veterans, Native Americans, and other US citizens being harassed by the hour, and these people still feel like they need to be like "but, but Biden!!!"

@Thuggin Oh, we're discussing the changes in media?

The Intercept was losing sources because they were fighting hard enough against the very ideas some of the sources were upholding. Now they're losing funding for the same reason and are on the verge of collapse. Drop Site which is its offshoot, if it wants to expand to exclusive reporting, is going to run into the same problems.

Their problems explain the heart of the crisis for progressive media going forward: https://www.semafor.com/article/04/14/2024/the-intercept-is-running-out-of-cash

Shamelessness and money saved Matt Schlapp, but not Chapo Trap House's Virgil Texas, rightfully, which gets into another reason why the right's media universe keeps expanding - they don't have standards and don't need them.

All the factions on the left are fighting and are suspicious of each other, and the wounds from the Bernie Bro overlap with the #GamerGate crowd that then led into #MeToo never really healed, regardless of the actual stats on the Bernie coalition: https://www.vox.com/identities/2017/10/24/16503462/dsa-women-cumtown-chapo

Then you have the egos and personalities. The double standards of a Krystal Ball with her Super PAC, the diva antics of Briahna Joy Gray, the flip-flop ambulance chasing of the new TERF icon Ana Kasparian and finally the years long saga of Glenn Greenwald which needs to be made into a film.

The personalities supercede the message, which is inherently the problem.

That "fix" is beyond dumb and moronic. You're exactly what I'm talking about too :juanny:

They don't actually care about the issues they scream about unless it can be used as an attack to hit Democrats with. These same people should be popping off in this thread with their anger at all the terrible things Trump is inflicting as they are the champions of the poor and disenfranchised and Minority voters…..and crickets.

Dont let them gaslight you or 'b-b-but Biden'.

@FameFatale My old campaign boss in upstate New York is going on this text tear with me on Elise Stefanik having slept her way to the top.

I'm kind of just doing the text equivalent of waving and nodding in response :rip:

The most Democratic city in terms of margins for both groups surprisingly. Detroit is 2nd but extremely close, although it's surprising it isn't 1st since it's 80% Black. The difference from Philly is around .5% for Black voters

Overall Black Vote - 5%Trump in Detroit vs 4.7% Trump in Philadelphia

The way they use Nazi propoganda aesthetics! It's wild.

The infighting here would be funny if it weren't so sad.

If anyone has a plan for 2028 with a candidate to unite the factions of the left and bring back the massive 2024 turnout drop-off, I'm all ears.

It starts with actually changing policy proposals, not targeting wealthy moderates and not hiring folks like Uber's legal chief but it doesn't look like they're interested.

If the DNC's completely shameless and has no interest in Gen Z at all they'll go with Josh Shapiro as predicted and lose. If they try to have some backbone but back down to the egos it'll be Gavin Newsom, and they'll lose. If they try to push unconventionally they'll go with Andy Beshear whose appeal won't translate at all outside Kentucky and they'll lose. Another wild card with foreign policy that will further divide the left I have a sneaking suspicion will try is Mark Kelly who will also lose.

Picking insurance heiress Gretchen Whitmer post Luigi-martyrdom is also a non-starter.

There's a lengthy Vanity Fair article with a subscription block on all the Dem infighting happening right now that's trending that I'm tempted to pay the money for this month but little of it will surprise me so probably not.

1. I am more interested in this topic than rehashing an election for the 42069th time too.

2. I think it's too early to have any real sense of who this could be bc we are only 4 days in, and it's clear the US will not be the same in 2028 as it was in 2024.

3. I don't think it's realistic to think any one candidate is going to bring unity to the party. That feels like an unrealistic goal that will keep giving Republicans the win. Everyone on the left needs to learn compromise. Our country is too big with too many varying wants and needs.
