Do you think if things are as terrible as we think they will be, that some of the states will threaten to secede from the union? Just as a way to get Trump or congress to listen to them or stop any potential tariff and or invasion plans?

Usually that's in the Republican playbook but if California (the fourth largest economy in the world) or Illinois (which holds the third largest city in the U.S.) were to say that if Trump tries anything, they'd leave the union, I feel like that would hold a lot of water.

I just wonder how bad it would have to be for one of them to declare that or even threaten it. No one in the Democratic party has any fangs or any gaul, except to the more progressive members or their own party.

No. Everybody will do nothing as always.

Right wing Christians saying LA is paying for its sins. But when Florida and other southern states had the hurricanes it was Democrats with their weather machines. :dies:

Insufferable piece of human garbage. His view on how to win elections was proven completely wrong and was utterly rejected, and he still finds a way to heap the blame entirely on progressives

There's also just the fact that people didn't hate Biden because he was progressive (because he wasn't - he was a ******* moderate that served platitudes to the progressive portion of the base to keep them in line, but never planned on following through with anything they actually wanted to see).

He was hated because he was extremely old and senile. And his administration AND his entire party knowingly lied to everyone about his ability to serve. Kamala was complicit in the coverup and was never ever going to be deemed trustworthy as a result.

All of this complying in advance before Trump takes over is kinda scary. The first Trump presidency was digestible because it atleast felt like the media and corporations still wanted to keep him accountable. It feels completely different now.

just how I feel. it's so eerie how even public-facing institutions are falling in line for a transparently corrupt government.

like there is no panic anymore, no urge to fight. and most importantly, no sense of privacy or safety on this data-scrubbed internet. makes me think it's going to be so easy for the state to silence opposition in this climate.

He'd get a 1972/1984 nuclear wipeout :deadbanana4:

Maybe the girls who have given up on the Democratic Party altogether ought to throw some support behind a prospective campaign in a kamikaze tactic, cause he might just very well kill the party off :deadbanana4:

Interesting how Melania is everywhere now after Trump won. :rip: She wouldn't leave the penthouse for 4 years, but now she's wanting to be seen beside her man. Girl what.

That's been the most frustrating part of coverage around the fires for me :dies:

My family cheering and hollering that LA shows how left-wing leadership is a failure, but when Florida was getting railed by hurricanes and Texas's power grid collapsed and started freezing people to death, it was "omg! How unfortunate is that! The government needs to SAVE these poor innocents!!"

To be honest, I'm just tired of all these disasters being politicized. I don't know why people feed into it. There's people dying, that's really all that matters.

She's always been awful. And the fact her husband is about to be in Trump's cabinet.

I want the next Democratic nominee to be mean and vicious. Hope and light and happiness is so dead in the country. We need an FDR type president to come back. Someone people hate but fear who can whip the whole party into shape.
