Beshear's riding high entirely off the goodwill of his father from his independents which won't carry over nationally and the DNC will torpedo his chances in favor of Shapiro.

Ossoff will sadly lose in 2026 which will thankfully end the breathless Beltway Camelot hype he's gotten which resembles the Beto wave before the Vanity Fair cover killed his career.

They both need bigger national profiles which is clearly why the former's team is putting him out there now. Shapiro's team did show their hand on X though with how infuriated they were at the passion against him to his left during the VP auditions which was really refreshing.

Beshear's the best we've got at the moment - if a miracle occurs and Ossoff wins he needs to stay in the Senate where he is far more valuable.

A huge no to the 16 other names floating around I discussed a while ago except for Whitmer who I leave an asterisk next to and will wait to see what she has to say during the primaries.

Shapiro will deeply depress base turnout in favor of the consultant class mythical Never Trumper vote that will never actually show up and it's a suicide pact.

I kinda... can't get over how happy Biden looked meeting with Trump few days ago. :dies:

It makes me think politics is nothing but a game, and that they are all friends behind the scenes.

The running theme amongst the pundits Sunday is that Trump's spending all his political capital with these nominees.

Seems like an amorphous concept at this point but who knows. Seeing Bush comparisons with his "mandate" on privatizing Social Security which went up in flames but Trump's definitely a unique figure.

Tired of seeing these Obama vs Trump edits

He would have struggled to win this election if there was a timeline where he lost in 2012 or he could run a 3rd term.

Even with how disappointing his presidency was I don't think the 1st Black president barely losing to Orange Turd is something we want to see
