In 2028 Dems need to choose a candidate who is not associated with Washington/"elites" and who will focus first and foremost on (1) upward mobility/the American Dream and (2) making the wealthy and corporations pay their fair share while lowering taxes for working Americans.

TBH, also rounding up documented immigrants would be the only way to give the illusion that "mass deportation" is working. Trump will want to see brown people on the TV being taken away; he won't care if they're actually undocumented. It's all about optics with him. He basically said it doesn't matter if they're committing violent crimes or not, everyone is breaking the law by even stepping foot in our country and they need to leave.
