Filling your cabinet with people who know nothing and have only ever succeeded by bing lucky or failing upwards is a recipe for disaster.

I hate Vance as much as the next person but I think we can all agree that JD is quite intelligent. And will ensure their nefarious policies are in fact, enacted. Same with RFK. I think Vance, Elon and Trump will clash a lot in the WH, though. There's a lot be concerned about here. I know you're not implying there isn't but I don't want to write it off as 'oh, they won't get much done'. Esp. with control of the presidency, house and senate. I'm deeply worried about what's to come even though it's out of our hands on what we can do to impede this. I was saying to myself the other day that I hope someone successfully plans an assassination. Or Trump suffers a fatal stroke. Yes, Trump would be dead but the policies would still remain with Vance. Unless we get lucky enough for a 2-for-1 special where they both get taken out together. I don't know what would happen then. I guess Mitch would temporarily step in. 1

No, it's good to be worried, we should be. But Trump is very clearly demented at this point and everything that goes on around him does so in an effort to keep him appeased. Appointing all of these complete morons to his cabinet, all of whom have different goals, is a recipe for disaster. Anything they do that causes him to get blowback, is going to make him pissed and people will be replaced over and over again. Someone like Vance, who I agree is much more competent, will have to play backseat driver while also making sure they never make Trump feel as if they're in control instead. As we know, that's virtually impossible. Vance cannot get anything done unless he takes control, but Trump won't like him taking control. Funnily enough, it is Trump himself who will be the biggest obstacle in all of this. 2

While unwinding those two tracks is happening, Dem media ecosystem and Dem bench building needs to start now, and both need to start from vastly different premises of built-in quid pro quos of A) Relying on neolib funding to be forced into still holding onto neolib ideas as with Kamala and the brother-in-law with Uber B) Relying on neolib sourcing on the Hill to be forced into towing the neolib line despite being a progressive news organization, causing it to almost collapse as with The Intercept so these organizations won't have to rely on ambulance chasing personalities always in fights or turmoil like Briahna or Ana. He's placed Trump on this weird savior pedestal and thinks he genuinely cares about the country, that he's going to save the whole world. How can we combat against that when people think he's Jesus reincarnated?
