Wonderland Posted November 9 Posted November 9 But in all seriousness, I think the republicans will run into trouble once they start wielding their power. ย It's easy to appear to coalition build when it's in opposition to a flopping incumbent. It's going to be much harder to keep that coalition together once they start legislating deeply unpopular policies such as ACA repeal, Project 2025 social policies etc. ย I mean, for how many years have Democrats gone on about trying to "rebuild the Obama coalition" which was once seen as a path to permanent electoral college victories? I see the "Trump coalition" likely headed a similar way. ย 11 2

I have lived through enough presidencies now where both sides at certain times seem unstoppable and the losing side in shambles. They come back in 4-8 years max. Just as Trump got the full brunt of COVID blame and Biden got the full brunt of inflation/prices blame. Republicans are about to get blamed for everything for 4 years and people will be pissed off again and want change in 2028. I get we are all emotional but the blatant "democrats will never win again" is so silly 5

Trump, closer than ever to senility, is now the woke candidate. And Steve Bannon is Kamala's pick for vice-president. ย 12

Trump's rhetoric is so extreme yet so normalized for 9 years now that they're forced to cope and conclude that he and his surrogates mustn't be talking about them and certainly his policies wouldn't negatively impact them. Because it's too hurtful to acknowledge the alternative that most of the country voted for. It's literally a "can't beat 'em, join 'em". Maybe if they show them they're just hard working Americans like the rest of them and are willing to vote for their candidates they'll stop shitting on them so much and will instead only reserve their ire for trans people. 4 1

Rep2000 Posted Saturday at 02:33 PM Posted Saturday at 02:33 PM (edited) Speaking of VP, when is the last time we see Trump post election night? He has been suspiciously quiet for someone who just managed to dodge like hundreds of lawsuits and criminal charges... The question is probably how soon would JD Vance become president atp. There's no such thing as the "far left." If you're trying to refer to leftists, most of us outside of safely blue states bit the bullet and voted for her in "the most consequential election of our lifetimes!!!" Just like we did for "the most consequential election of our lifetimes!!!" back in 2020. And also for the one in 2016. At some point we need to admit that the people who were most likely to stay home were working class low-engagement voters who the Democratic Party failed to convince that it could make their lives materially better. 6
