The Walz experiment failed. If Vance is the presumptive nominee come 2028, we already saw Walz tryout in the debate and it went mediocre at best. Dems need to put forth a fresh face/youthful candidate preferably from a swing state.Β

Me when a Trump voter, write-in voter or a person that didn't vote complains about the country in the next four years.

there's literally no reason for Dems to not troll tf out of the republicans for the next 4 years, so why tf not? lol harass him about his medical records on the daily, tax records, deporting his wife, bring up impeachment any time he tries his nasty crap, send him McDonald's applications, whatever it takes to make these 4 years go by quickly quickΒ

I do not think they utilized him the way they should have. It felt like they kept him in the basement for a month and then let him go here or there. If they let him go on Joe Rogan or more of those GenZ style podcast. I think she could have picked up some of those voters because it's a down to earth funny dad vibe.Β

I'm sorry, but the American people do not care about any of those things you just listed.

The American people do. Trump is the exception, and Republicans get a pass for being horrible because people just expect that from them. Biden calling Reps garbage was a huge story, but Trump saying Dems should all die wasn't.

They muzzled him because calling Republicans weird was divisive. And they embraced a campaign direction that was meant to maximize support among a constituency that doesn't exist while depressing the base.Β
Β

I guarantee "There will be Republicans in my cabinet" is more why she had 15 million Biden voters staying home than over Gaza complainers and protesters lowering morale :suburban:Β

Trolling Republicans is too divisive. We have to coddle them and tell them they can be part of our administrations so they can reject us and elect their authentic Republican leaders anyway :suburban:Β

I'm just sad because Walz could have been an option for Democrats going forward if he wasn't tied to this ticket.

Β

One of the reasons Kamala picked him was because during his vetting interviews he said he had no desire to run for president himself and she knew there would not be any ego tension. He also said his political career was near its end and being VP would have been his final act. So even if he wasn't her VP nominee, him running for president wouldn't have been likely.Β

If Josh Shapiro is anywhere near a ticket in 2028, Republicans honestly deserve the sweep.

It's almost annoying how polite Democrats are being now, after Republicans made the transition of power so difficult in 2020/21.Β :katie:

And let's be real, he was not a natural campaigner or debater. For the past few days, this thread is almost collectively agreed that the way forward is fresh new faces and new platforms. Tim Walz is not the answer.Β

Hasan isn't great when it comes to the protection of womenΒ :coffee2:Β He effectively said it was better/good for WASP male elites to be penned into wealthy colleges because then they'd only date rape wealthy WASP women.Β

Americans really think being a law abiding citizen is boring, I-:deadbanana:

It's more the "quid pro quo" that he was being impeached for was kind of seen as one of the more mundane things that Presidents do. Reagan did it with the Iranian Hostage Crisis to **** over Carter. HW Bush did Iran Contra. Clinton bombed Serbia to save his marriage with Hillary. What W Bush did by lying us into an illegal war with Iraq was way worse, and he was never impeached for it.
