Guys we can fight about what went wrong all day but the truth is this was curtains. Mark my words, there will be no elections in 2026 and 2028. Republicans have been planning this moment since the early 80s. If anyone thinks they are gonna give up an ounce of power now we're kidding ourselves. And once Thomas and alito retire we can absolutely forget Medicare for all, abortion ever coming back, gay marriage is absolutely toast next. This was it. We fought with each other for four years and in the end just couldn't come together (party leaders incompetence admitted) and what starts in January is the beginning of the rest of our lives. I was a little hopeful yesterday but after reading project 2025….there's no coming back.

Ok I'm posting a lot for the first time like... ever (sorry), but let's not. We can't resign ourselves to this yet. The Republicans are still an incredibly fractured, incredibly ideologically inconsistent party, and they will most certainly do some damage, but I have to believe it's not over over.

For state power to last, it has to build consent across society. Their most damaging ideas are quite simply unpopular, and whether through whatever shreds we have left of democratic politics or mass revolt, something will break. Cultural struggle will always be in progress, and yeah—I think it'll get a lot worse before it gets better—but I simply don't think the modern American right is actually in touch with what people want or need, and the faultlines will start to show pretty quickly once they take power.

You're so annoying, you never have anything of substance to add. All you talk about is "holocaust harris", and I never even really liked Kamala, like don't reply to me lol.

You believed Holocaust Harris was working towards a ceasefire and I brought *substance* to the argument by showing receipts of their admin supplying billions of dollars in offensive weapons funding to continue the genocide. Sorry if that annoys you :cm:

Rosen will win her NV senate race :clap3: looking like a 47-53 senate split and a 6-7 R house majority. Republicans fumbled the bag so bad here. you should be winning these down ballot races easily when Trump won as handily as he did. there's some truth to people turning out for Trump and no one else.

It's always so funny when one of y'all come for me, or anyone else really, about the genocide. I'm not the one baby, I am fully behind an arms embargo and think that Israel is USA's puppet state. But yes, keep flaming people for no reason!

@heckinglovato using a genocide to flame people on pop music forum atrl.net to show off and try and seem morally superior is beyond hilarious to me. Get a job.

I think Republicans will go full force this time since they were only scared before because they thought Trump was damaged goods, but now that we see the US embrace Trumpism MORE enthusiastically now, they'll definitely hop on board in hopes of snatching more power. :bird:

That definitely doesn't mean anything good for us, but I do think it'll provide a lot of ground to connect with others who are suffering under poor Republican rule. A lot of unity will come out of this I think.

Blue MAGA is just so unserious. Trump won a TRIFECTA FOR THE SECOND TIME :bibliahh: What's not clicking? Biden has had legislative accomplishments but none of this matters if you can't sell your wins with effective surrogates that sound like real people and not condescending elitists.

This touched on what I said once before but....

...unions are great, but most poor people are not part of a union. Most workers are not part of a union.

So this idea that just defending organized labor in the form of unions is enough and can be used to rebuke the claim people need more done on the economy is silly.

Democrats can encourage union formation and protect the ability to unionize but this idea that unions can be enough on their own is oddly liberal. Unions help workers organize power but that power will never come close to the organization power of using the state to achieve leftist goals. Only 10% of workers are part of a union even as Americans become more supportive of them than ever.

Most poor people will never be part of a union.

Target workers don't have unions.

Walmart workers don't have unions.

Amazon drivers don't have unions.

Waitresses and waiters don't have unions

Cab drivers don't have unions.

The vast majority of poor people have not felt the direct impact of Biden supporting labor unions because most are not part of a union.

Supporting unions cannot be swapped in place of the government setting a living minimum wage and providing people with healthcare and education.

We shouldn't want every industry to have strong unions who then negotiate great rates on health insurance. We should want to abolish private health insurance.

I really don't know why I thought this year would be different, but I did :rip:  delusional hope, I guess.  You're right.

Same. I've been so blinded because I've always wanted to just defeat Donald Trump without questioning the team I've been rooting for. Well the team I'm on needs some players traded away or waived off the roster. Time for a team rebuild even though it will take years.

She didn't lie, she literally said there are many things we don't get to see (obviously true) and that there were numerous talks about a ceasefire. I'm choosing to believe her over ATRL users sorry!

The last 4 years have been such a crazy time that being the incumbent is actually bad thing, when otherwise, in more normal times, people like continuity and predictability.

"No she didn't!"

"Since you think she was working tirelessly for a ceasefire…"

Right? I thought we stopped falling for bait in 2018. I guarantee Fuentes just grew his platform

Even his own platform is overstated. His followers are mostly stupid middle schoolers that find being offensive as entertainment. He represents not even 1% of the country's actual viewpoint. Like what happened to ignoring these unserious lunatics online like everyone does to those doomsday conspiracy lunatics with those "FEAR THE RAPTURE" signs on the street?

I'm leaving, but I will say, using any sort of current mass casualty as a way to flame people or feel some sort of superiority on the internet is weird. Put your money where your mouth is and donate to organizations that help in what you believe in. I haven't said much on the conflict because 1.) I don't believe I am the best to talk on it, I am not about to study decades of fighting 2.) I do things IRL to help the Palestinian resistance and 3.) I don't need internet points like SOMEONE here.

Goodbye now!

Damn I'm kinda shocked.....I just learned that both my sisters (registered democrats) who live in Nevada voted for Trump and all of the reasons they gave were crazy conspiracy theories and cultural wars:

--They don't want the government forcing their kids to have to share bathrooms with trans kids

--They don't agree with abortion in the 3rd trimester

--They don't want the government mandating covid vaccines

I honestly believe that 'the economy' is being used as a cover for some voters and we have a serious problem on our hands as democrats. How the hell are we going to effectively push back on the fear mongering around culture issues??

Okay one last thing since I saw this...all I said was AOC said there were numerous talks behind the scenes about ceasefire deals, and I believe her. I never said Harris was. You're actually smart so idk why you're doing this.
