It just became too embarrassing to pretend after the debate. I think Dems probably still would have lost if Biden didn't run for a second term but god damn what an indictment of him, his administration, and the entire Dem leadership. I applaud Nancy for doing what it took but she waited far too long.
TedLasso Posted November 7 Posted November 7 Honestly Pete would be such a great option for 2028 if he wasn't gay.ย Dems need to find an Obama 2.0 if they want to gain more of the straight male vote.ย 1

Thank you Kamala for the 90 or so days of joy and excitement you were able to inject into this race; as a black man, your run was inspiring. ย There's a lot of work and soul searching that needs to be done, but if these MAGA f*cks think we're going to just watch them tear our democracy to the ground, they're in for a rude awakening! I'm not too far off from finishing law school and Kamala's story and campaign has been very inspiring to me as a future lawyer and prosecutor. Bears01 Posted November 7 Posted November 7 Jon Stewart is legit the only option I see as someone who could break through for Dems in a way that Trump broke though for Republicans.ย ย Whitmer has good populist accomplishments in MI that help too (repealing RTW). But her being a female in an era where America clearly doesn't want a female president is a hinderance.ย ย Everyone else I can think of (Shapiro, Newsome, Pete) no no and NO. BOOMBAYAH Posted November 7 Posted November 7 3 minutes ago, Jay07 said: God, you hit the nail on the head. We talked about it yesterday but this is the most shocking thing to me. Talking to these 20 something guys that are the opposite of the "chad", lonely, non athletic guys who play video games and don't have a lot of social currency, the way they idolize these ridiculous jocks from Rogan on down instead of rejecting the toxic masculinity stereotypes and attempting to reshape society in a more compassionate manner that will accept everyone... like white women, I have no idea why they fight against their own interests and become even more hateful of everyone that doesn't fit the stereotype of the straight, popular jock instead of understanding that if all outcasts band together, they can reshape society to be more tolerant and inclusive. Instead they get taught to hate women, people of color and LGBTQ. Why? I remember (and this was like two or three years ago now) my friend said something along the lines of, 'Men think feminism hates them, but it's actually the redpill. The redpill is what tells them they are useless if they are not rich, tall, attractive, a provider, or gymed up. It is feminism and feminist women who tell them they don't need to be any of those things to be a valuable human.' And it's really the truth. But yes, the anti-toxic-masculinity movement was eventually all but destroyed by the emergence of the redpill and conservatism, and I don't quite know how we can reach young men again. Kamala and Michelle tried to steer the message back to, again, impact them directly, by saying that it will be the wives, girlfriends, sisters, and mothers in their lives who suffer too (to at least appeal to their selfish nature), but even that fell flat, it seems. So yeah, we do need leftist men taking up online space, but it's systemically just difficult as f*ckโand maybe the only option is to install these leftist men while also playing into patriarchy and political games ourselves, by having them fit the beauty standards (Hasan) or be edgy to the point where it is basically dangerous/touching on right-wing (Destiny). 6 1
