JennyWayne Posted November 6 Posted November 6 At this rate New York will be a battleground state by 2036 Β
Rotunda Posted November 6 Posted November 6 I do wonder what a Trump term where the mainstream media has lost a lot more trust from both sides of the aisle looks like.Β Β I don't think we're getting a 24/7 Resistance era like we did last time.
brutal Posted November 6 Posted November 6 No shade but why is Bernie Sanders acting like he didn't underperform Kamala in his own state this year... 5
RW93 Posted November 6 Posted November 6 I do hope Kamala runs for Governor or something in the future, this can't be the end for her. Β This hits even more because all in all I found Kamala to be quite a likeable candidate. 4

LGBT are inherently progressive. Imagine how many lgbt did not vote due to pandering to the right?!! 7
Beyonnaise Posted November 6 Posted November 6 I don't think Obergefell is a priority for them in the first two years (let's hope) but I could see them banning puberty blockers and transition care. Trans people are gonna keep being vilified, it's really sad. 2 1

This is going to be a scary ride & I don't want to be on it, yet here we are. Why would you hope that? They saw what happened to John McCain, who is only revered as a hero by Democrats now. They saw what happened to Jeff Flake. They saw what happened to Jeff Sessions when all he did was follow DoJ procedure and self-recused so that Mueller could pursue an investigation that did absolutely **** all. I could go on and on. There is NO value in not kissing the ring.

To use a very 2017 word, he's been fully normalized. There was an essay about the stigma around liking Trump has dissipated, especially with young people who don't remember a political era before him. I feel like the resistance to him will be more like how people hated Bush. I think people are too desensitized to do another large scale Women's March. 6

aquababy Posted November 6 Posted November 6 some optimismΒ Spoiler yes I know it's looking like they'll run shapiro or newsom next butΒ Β Β 3
Lil Mistee Posted November 6 Posted November 6 People are def desensitized to Trump, many young people only know a political world with him in it! I am 29 and 2016 was my first election, he's not gone away for almost 10 years for me.

Thuggin Posted November 6 Posted November 6 It would be such a massive mistake for Dems to run anyone who has any sort of name recognition right now. Literally all the old faces of the party need to go away at this point. And this isn't blaming all of them, but I feel like it's the only way forward in a country where the people distrust every institution and want to tear everything down. Β That said, I can't even begin to think about strategizing for 2026 or 2028 right now. I'm too numb. 6 3
