you're trolling but how old is that woman? We need to stop pushing these old people and letting them stay around in politics so much, the woman hasn't been wrong since 2004 but she was way off this time

She lost her credibility by being blinded by her deep convictions. One can be a defender of a cause while being subjective and enlightened, which unfortunately did not happen with her

Democrats need to re-center themselves on the politic spectrum, they need to be real economic progressive Liberals, not being democratic socialists, it would never work if they stick to that ideology

The only people claiming Democrats are socialists are Republicans and you are choosing to believe them.

Β

The Democratic Party is a capitalist party through and through. Socialists wouldn't campaign with billionaires (e.g., Mark Cuban) and try to promote crypto assets as part of their policy platform.

One thing Democrats need to get better at is taking warning signs seriously. Multiple forecasts were showing the sunbelt and PA trending more and more red for the past month and people were online claiming the media was "rigging" the polls in Trump's favor because the media "didn't want to be wrong" only for MI and WI to be the only states that showed a narrow lead for Harris but went for Trump. With Hillary losing despite being ahead 3 points nationally, people should have known the moment Kamala's lead dwindled to 1 point that she was in trouble.Β

Well if you look at the race as soon as she started stating policy positions her momentum died 🀷

Trump didn't give any and look where he's at πŸ’€

I'm sorry are you actually suggesting Ann Selzer had some kind of agenda instead of a polling miss

Β

Because unless she said something wildly out of character in the last few days that I missed…

Biden, Kamala and Walz are the PERFECT exemple of democratic socialist, they are on the left/far left spectrum and it will never works in the US, the average American is centre-right

Overall Latino vote at 46% Trump, appears that's the worst in American history for DemocratsΒ :skull:

Yeah, the backlash will be massive when people start seeing their neighbors they've known for years ripped out of their homes. As awful as it is to say I pray it's just bad enough to absolutely kill the party's future but not bad enough where they take us with them

Β

I fear it will lead to the biggest recession since the great depression.Β

Crazy how my border town flipped to red this time around. Driving around today and everyone with trump flags. Like do y'all know you have 30 minsΒ :deadbanana2:

What happens if Trump comes in and starts killing it? Egg prices go down and crime goes down. Do we buy red hats too? /s

Just talked to my Tata about the election and he voted for Trump but voted for Gallego because he thought he was more righteous and virtuous than Lake

Β

Interesting take, considering he voted Trump, but Trump is truly impervious to negative press :deadbanana2:

This is all tea sis but I'm lowkey pretty glad they ran Kamala and not a progressive cause any Dem was most likely going to get mega-bodied unless they're a once-in-a-lifetime charismatic person.

So like... Is kamala's career over? Is it unwise to primary her in 2028?Β

What's so confusing about this? I want to listen to some progressive podcasts and the only one I know is Pod Save America and they are boring and they suck at Survivor.Β

I think the kii here is that there is none. The best you get is Krystal, Kyle and Friends, TYT (with Ana Kasparian defecting), and Majority Report with Sam Seder and Emma Vigeland

Β

Briahna Joy Gray also has Bad Faith Pod, but I sincerely doubt there's much appetite for that brand of commentary from most people here.

Β

Hasan Piker livestreams on Twitch and he's the only commentator with any sort of reach beyond… niche subsets of leftists insulated in microscopic bubbles. And even then, there's no competing with Rogan, Louder With Crowder, Tim Pool, or Dave Rubin.

I'm not saying she did this prediction on purpose, but she was clearly lost in her so strong envy of a Kamala's winning, I mean you are a professional poll person and your prediction was 17% off, it's a bit embarrassingΒ

She's almost certainly done, IMO. She wouldn't make it any further in the 2028 primary than she did in 2020.

Not to play both sides, but both Republican and Democratic voters love to claim the polls are rigged against them when it's not showing their preferred candidate winning. It's such a bad habit but it seems to not be going away anytime soon.

When those policies include bolstering cryptocurrency and useless language like "launch a national health initiative" (this literally means nothing; how does this materially improve people's lives?), I'd argue she still didn't run on any policies that resonate with people.Β
