Biden trashing trump supporters is one of the few times he galvanized the base. People respond to ENERGY and FIRE. Quit with the nonsense respectability stuff already. Trump and his supporters ARE trash. You can't run on fascist rhetoric and leave clean, wth.

I know I'm in the minority here but god this is the happiest day of my life. I've been working so hard contributing to this result and I hope this is a huge referendum on how the media and Hollywood are machines used against President Trump. Onward and upward to a brighter future!!

You are on a primarily LGBT forum, with a profile picture of a black woman, yet you think anyone here is going to have a brighter future? Be serious.

Apparently the 14 million less voters is proof 2020 election was stolen.Β

I'm already seeing this in right wing circles. :deadbanana2:Β they're like there's no way there wasn't fraud!!!Β

of you genuinely think/thought Bernie Sanders was ever gonna come close to winning an election, you are living in a fantasy world... love the guy but let's be real

So you are saying he stood at least as good of a chance as any other democrat?Β

Do you think that's an oxymoron or something? The literal core of modern Sanders-style leftism is left-wing populist policy.

trump/project 2025 wants to effect all this. which is why latinos & gen z look so f*ckin dumb.Β

He has control of the house and the senate but surely not all of them will want ot get rid of the department of education? Maybe it won't pass.

Β

I'm trying to find something to cling on too naturally that maybe they are decent humans.Β

So we are all noticing that the demographics Harris flopped with were generally the demographics Bernie was doing really well with? Β
Β

It's almost like liberals always had a response to the current political moment and they have themselves to blame here.Β

THIS.

Β

Dems have failed us.

The thought they did something by voting someone who has been advocating for some rich tax cut. Literally, jumping from one ship to another for nothing.

They should also ask themselves how many felt betrayed by how they treated Biden. The way they and their donors handled that just before he suspended his campaign was pretty nasty.

The general manager at my job said this. I'm exhausted.Β

With PA being the Rust Belt state called for Trump first and having the most R-leaning Senate race, I say we just consider PA a red state now and move Dem messaging back to banning frackingΒ :nicole:

However even as Latin Democrat I always felt the LatinX thing or lumping all our different backgrounds together something stupid that made no sense and a lack aweresness of the left. Secondly, everyone who got their citzenship in the last 40 years worked very hard for it and don't want more latin immigrants here since the whole reason to immigrate was to get away from latin america, so when Biden has his border crisis we think its a joke. Making it all about race is why the dem lost heavily

I'm Mexican, born in Mexico. I know how things work for us. Idk about any other countries but there's no path for Mexicans unless you marry, sponsored by work(not very common), or a family member does it for you(can take up to 15 years in some cases). It's extremely selfish to deny the right to others who came the same way as you. But that's just me.Β

I feel so sorry for you guys and for the whole world tbh (I live in Chile). I won't say Americans are idiots, because such generalization would include so so many people that voted with hope andΒ  will be again victimized by this terrible man and his administration. My heart is with all of you.

Girl what's bright about living in a world where the lack of environmentalist policy rapidly accelerates climate disasters and mass climate migration, where an entire generation of Americans becomes functionally illiterate as our education system is brutally gutted, where gay people can't get married and trans people can't get life-saving healthcare, where nobody can afford to visit an emergency room or buy a home, and where you might just literally die if you need an abortion or have a miscarriage (or go to prison if you survive)?

Everyone's gonna double down on respectability I fear. Alyssa said on The View to let the other side do it, but don't do it yourself. Like... the double standards have become ridiculous.

Yes.Β

Β

Populism is seen and understood in America as playing into a narrative that there is corruption and an unfair system for most people at play.Β

Β

Liberal populism argues that this is mainly caused by bad players in a market and offers solutions focused on tax incentives, grants, subsidies, and entrepreneurial language like "offering opportunities".

Β

Leftist populism argues that capitalism is the culprit and the system itself is built to disenfranchise and must be completely reshaped to reorient to the needs of the average person.Β

Β

A progressive populist calls for making healthcare a right. A liberal populism calls for expanded tax credits that people then can use to explore more purchasing options on an insurance marketplace.Β

Β

I wonder why Harris' policy to give select first time home-buyers a $25k tax credit after making their down payment didn't rush people to the polls..

I think both candidates will see consequences of them both basically campaigning in just seven states.Β

Maybe I've fallen into a conspiracy rabbit hole but this graph is crazy to see. :deadbanana4: Is it real? Did more people vote in 2020 because of being locked down in Covid? Not beating the election allegations because where did all these people go... Both sides had big drop offs.
