I just can't get over how Selzer was right on point the last two cycles in favor of Trump despite going against the polling consensus, but now she did the same thing in favor of dems but completely flopped

Honestly, this is the logical outcome of a political system in which members of Congress are allowed to trade stocks, super PACs funnel special interest money to politicians, businesses are recognized as "people" under the law, etc.

 

The electorate is just as greedy and self-interested as the politicians they're voting for. It's clear that the American ethos of individualism has warped into a profound selfishness among its citizens and I honestly don't see how it will change. That's capitalism for you

One big takeaway for me is just how insignificant 3rd party voters ended up being in this election. Like truly not even a dent in the final numbers or results.

 

A lot of the fear mongering from the far left just didn't materialize in reality.

So, I'm going to whataboutism here a bit, but everything you just stated from being out of touch, to using "identity politics" to AIPAC, to corporations- the republicans (the party who just handily beat the Dems) are guilty of this and more. So, why did it work out for them and not the Dems?
