I'm hoping for a progressive man that's not yet that famous to come out of the woodworks because otherwise it's gonna be Josh Shapiro or Buttigieg (yuck) JB Pritzker would be ideal His ethnicity may be a problem to the racist republicans but they weren't gonna vote democratic anyways

Parachutes Posted November 6 Posted November 6 (edited) Ugh I can't get over waiting 4 years just for us to be back where we were, but likely even worse off Spoiler This is awful, but part of me kinda wishes that Biden would've just lost in 2020 so that we'd at least be heading into a different (likely Dem) administration now. To be stuck with Trump until 2028 and now MAGA for the rest of our livesโฆโฆโฆโฆโฆ ย Edited November 6 by Parachutes

But somehow we'll be fine. I feel oddly at peace with this result. The right wing will always win in times of uncertainty, I guess. We'll see how that plays out, but there's nothing we can do to stop any of this. The entire world has embraced the right.ย 1
shelven Posted November 6 Posted November 6 I'm too mentally exhausted to focus on the bigger picture questions and takeaways from this election, so a smaller one for now: these Senate results have completely killed any lingering idea that more than a trivial number of Americans ticket split it in federal races. When everything settles, it looks like the presidential polls will actually end up moderately accurate, but the Senate polls were a disaster in most cases. The idea that voters "want to make sure there's a check on the power of the president they're voting for" was always a tenuous theory to begin with and it's finally been completely debunked. These Trump voters in swing states are all perfectly fine with Trump having as much supporting power as he can during his term.ย 2

Virgos Groove Posted November 6 Posted November 6 Everyone is talking about Palestinians and leftists and Kamala and the weather and whatever, but let's be honest: this is all Biden's fault. He, like RBG and Feinstein, will go down in history as a complete failure whose "achievements" will be erased by what comes next. ย 8 1
