There is no chance that the democratic electorate will nominate a woman after this double trauma. Zero. I'm hoping for a progressive man that's not yet that famous to come out of the woodworks because otherwise it's gonna be Josh Shapiro or Buttigieg (yuck)

JB Pritzker would be ideal

His ethnicity may be a problem to the racist republicans but they weren't gonna vote democratic anyways

Agreed, they can start by opposing genocide and see where people go from thereย

I look forward to all your posts over the next 4 years bemoaning that Trump isn't doing/didnt do enough to stop the genocide since Dems and Reps are the same. Please tag me in these so I don't miss them.

The country moved to the right. And Gen-Z men are apparently more conservative on social issues including LGBTQ and women's issues.

This is so clear. Not understanding how people think running a further left candidate would have changed this. American decisively went right, fueled by POC and young men. It's not looking good for the immediate future of the left.

We might as well acknowledge with Trump's win that Palestine will cease to exist in the near future. Hope you're enjoying the gloating today while it lasts, sis.

Under Kamala it's also starting to cease to existย :skull:

Find comfort in a community. I think all the LGBTQ+ people should stick to together, even if we don't fully understand each other. We are stronger together.

Yes. Atlas Intel on their way to an A+ rating we truly lost !ย :clack:

Ugh I can't get over waiting 4 years just for us to be back where we were, but likely even worse off

Spoiler

This is awful, but part of me kinda wishes that Biden would've just lost in 2020 so that we'd at least be heading into a different (likely Dem) administration now. To be stuck with Trump until 2028 and now MAGA for the rest of our livesโ€ฆโ€ฆโ€ฆโ€ฆโ€ฆ:dancehall2:

Nowhere, we're mega doomed :suburban:

NO youth vote, NO latino vote, NO men vote, there is no future. But somehow we'll be fine. I feel oddly at peace with this result. The right wing will always win in times of uncertainty, I guess. We'll see how that plays out, but there's nothing we can do to stop any of this. The entire world has embraced the right.ย

I'm too mentally exhausted to focus on the bigger picture questions and takeaways from this election, so a smaller one for now: these Senate results have completely killed any lingering idea that more than a trivial number of Americans ticket split it in federal races. When everything settles, it looks like the presidential polls will actually end up moderately accurate, but the Senate polls were a disaster in most cases. The idea that voters "want to make sure there's a check on the power of the president they're voting for" was always a tenuous theory to begin with and it's finally been completely debunked. These Trump voters in swing states are all perfectly fine with Trump having as much supporting power as he can during his term.ย

They went right because the Dems failed to provide an alternative for so long. :skull:ย

Everyone is talking about Palestinians and leftists and Kamala and the weather and whatever, but let's be honest: this is all Biden's fault. He, like RBG and Feinstein, will go down in history as a complete failure whose "achievements" will be erased by what comes next.

That dumb ass on the video...couldn't she just have not voted???

you singling her out when there's at least a million like her who switched democrat to trump (not republican) just to punish the democrats

ย

she's a dumb ***** but democrats have to question themselves if their actual voters want to punish them. like the resentment is deeply rooted at this level

To light things up in this thread:

Tammy Baldwin (D- WI) and Elissa Slotkin (D-MI) are the apparent winners in their Senate races despite the seeming red wave

Bob Casey tho :gaycat7:ย

Because going left isn't just about culture issues, yall are ceding the ground that the economy can only be discussed on republicans terms and that's why America would rather have a phony business man than institutional rot again and again
