Like that's bad but it's not something Dems can't fix next election (if we have one) and if they try. Agreed, they can start by opposing genocide and see where people go from there 2 1 2
TryMe Posted November 6 Posted November 6 The changes Trump will make is not even the biggest concern I think. I think what we need to be cautious about is the hate crime against LGBT. I think a natural progression out of this victory is that they will feel more empowered than ever to act on such violent urges. 3

Virgos Groove Posted November 6 Posted November 6 (edited) If there's a silver lining, any silver lining, is that this will bury the Dems' attempts to transition to a centrist and neocon electorate and will force them to pander to their progressive base like in 2019/20... Spoiler ...right? Edited November 6 by Virgos Groove 6 1

Men always win and there's no way to stop that tbh I don't really know where we go from here because Republicans are just kinda winning across the board in all conceivable ways, despite not really helping anyone
GraceRandolph Posted November 6 Posted November 6 The fact that Kamala will literally disappear into the ether. I'm sorry this whole election has been so surreal. 1
WildAmerican Posted November 6 Posted November 6 i think i'm going to process this alright internally. i just really don't wanna have to talk about it with everyone in my life 1
getBusy Posted November 6 Posted November 6 I've been awake for a little over an hour and i've cried twice already. I hate this.

Hope you're enjoying the gloating today while it lasts, sis. 2 3
Mariano Posted November 6 Posted November 6 I remembered this is the same country that lets its children die in schools on a weekly basis and keep doing nothing about it and I don't feel that shocked and upset anymore. 3

Exactly. Trump has never tried to cozy up to Democrats and people are out there running to vote for him. The bipartisan ideals that old-school Democrats believe in (that might have worked in the past) does not work anymore. period. There needs to be a real difference, an alternative, not just more of the same but 'nicer' 1

There is no chance that the democratic electorate will nominate a woman after this double trauma. Zero. I'm hoping for a progressive man that's not yet that famous to come out of the woodworks because otherwise it's gonna be Josh Shapiro or Buttigieg (yuck)
TrymeB Posted November 6 Posted November 6 What an absolute $hitfest 2024 has turned out to be? The past two months are truly a nightmare. 1

It's also incredibly individualistic. As long as Trump promises a few things and the oligarchs promote him a lot of people will support him because they idolize the wealthy. 7

Let Americans know exactly what they voted for and let them face the consequences. Blocking the actions will just let the MAGAs in 2028 go "see we aren't that bad we actually didn't do anything". 2 minutes ago, GraceRandolph said: Yes, let's let the Dems continue to give Republicans everything they want. He's right though, the electorate loves to vote Republicans then are shocked when 'Leopards ate my face' kicks in and run right back to democrats. And as horrible as it sounds, I have no empathy for the terrible things that are gonna happen to the people that voted for him. I only care for the minorities and LGBTQ+ that didn't. 1
