Only Latino men shifted by an insane amount. The other male groups stayed relatively stagnateย

ย

Also her lead with women was worse than Biden.

ย

Not surprised. Coworker husband would've voted for him if he could, because of how comical he is not policy. My dad would to because of the misdiscription that he believed that the work of the Dems Congress were Trumps doing.ย

Trump is winning the non degree voters.ย

Given republicans will have the house and senate, his tariffs might pass?

Well if they do:-

Prices will go up. It's not the Chinese or whoever paying them, it's the importer and so then the US consumer.

ย

If he passes them at 400% I think he mentioned, they will raise nothing by way of revenue. Why? Well, ย if you have a $50k sort of a car it will cost $250k and who is going to pay that? Nobody.

ย

So sure, jobs created in Detroit making cars within the US tariff wall, but less competition so in the long run they become the new style useless smoky Trabants of East German fame as the rest of the world moves on with newer tech.

ย

China, or the EU or whoever the tariffs are targeted at, will retaliate so reducing US exports.

ย

Back to the future sort of 1930's style, and that was such a great, progressive, prosperous decade wasn't it?

They are 100% coming after Plan B, birth control, prep, same-sex marriage, etc.ย

The gloating of the alt right is already unbearable. Muting Trump for the next x amount of years (I doubt it'll be 4) and probably gonna delete twitter entirely. I can't be on that platform anymore.ย
ย

I also mass unfollowed everyone on TikTok that joked about the election/follows Trump. Check all your faves reposts it will expose a LOT of silent trumpers.ย
ย

im done. And I'm gonna have to hear about this **** all day from the white supremacist at my job.ย

I am hoping desperately for yall that Trump having no more elections to run in will manifest in him being an apathetic do-nothing of a president. He has achieved his goals, which was to make up for his humiliating loss in 2020 and avoid jail. Does he actually care to do the hard work of being president? Trump is not ideological and only cares about his popularity, ego, and legacy. In some ways, that means there is hope he will not govern as a christofascist like Steve Bannon etc want him to.ย

ย

Or he will and you're right that America is ******ย :suburban:

ย

Maybe this is copium but he looked so low energy at his acceptance speech. He did want to stay out of prison and avenge 2020 but I think he has 0 motivation to actually do any work, he looked completely wiped out at the end of the campaign. The bad part about this is that it leaves a vacuum that the absolute worst people like JD Vance, Elon Musk and Peter Thiel can fill.

So im seeing California voted against raising the minimum wage, and voted overwhelminly for harsher sentences for petty crimes 70-30.

If ever there was evidence that the 'America is secretly progressive' narrative is complete delusion, please look at that result. CALIFORNIAย :clack:

Yeah, Bidet did an objectively good job on economy despite overseeing fallout from a once-in-a-century pandemic, managed to keep US well above everybody else, avoided recession despite everybody predicting it, achieved aย soft landing, kept unemployment to crazy low levels and markets are currently higher than ever before.

ย

Hoverer, it's very hard toย sell 'it's not good but it's much better than it could've been!' on its own, but also meanwhile things are noticeably more expensive than 6 years ago and people forย some reason think they can go back to those prices.ย

- Inflation has been far worse during the Biden administration, up 20.1% over the first 45 months of Biden's term compared to 7.1% during Trump's first 45 months, according to the government's consumer price index.ย That equates to annualized inflation rates of 5.4% under Biden and 1.9% under Trump,ย which Biden has blamed on COVID-19's lingering impact and the Russia-Ukraine war.

-ย Job market:ย Both Biden and Trump oversaw strong labor markets. Since Biden took office, overall employment is up 12%, average pay is up 19% and unemployment is down from 6.7% to 4.1%. It was particularly a sign of strength that job growth and sub-4% unemployment have coincided with interest rate increases and a subsiding in inflation, both of which typically hurt the labor market, though the U.S. employment picture has shownย some cracksย in recent months.ย Perhaps Trump's most impressive labor market feats were unemployment declining from 4.7% to as low as 3.5% in late 2019 and early 2020, which tied its lowest level since 1969 and wages growing by an inflation-beating 15% over his four-year term.

-ย The COVID jobs asterisk:ย Much of the Biden labor market gains are part of the post-pandemic recovery, as unemployment was just 3.5% in Feb. 2020 and the number of employed Americans is up only 4%. Biden has largely focused on the Covid-skewed data points, and Trump's labor market performance depends strictly on the cutoff date, as the COVID-19 disruption undid much of the nominal progress

- Stock market:ย Stocks performed better under Trump, though both presidencies coincided with stronger-than-average gainsโ€”the S&P 500 index has posted an annualized return of 12.6% since Biden and Harris took office in 2021, compared to 16.3% under Trump (and there most certainly hasn't been the stock market crash under Biden that his opponent forecasted in the 2020 race).

- Consumer health:ย Consumer sentiment was lower last month than it ever was under Trump, according to the University of Michigan's widely tracked survey, as Americans continue to feel the aftershocks of inflation despite strong headline economic growth numbers and a record stock market. September's 4.6% personal savings rate, which measures the percentage of Americans' income left over after expenses and taxes, was two-thirds of September 2019's 7%. The savings rate never fell below 5% under Trump.

Latino men and Gen Z really screwed this election, didn't theyย :rip:ย

I felt a trump win was coming so I'm not as shocked as 2016. But Iam still disappointed and fearful of what will come from another trump term.ย

America is just a deeply conservative country, that's just the reality of thingsย :michael:.

Is anyone else emotional cause I woke up to tears in my eyes. Like I'm actually very shake up right now. I'm not trying to be a sore loser and I prepared for this but seeing blowout and mass turnout for red shows me how much propaganda has infected the minds of every individual in this country through social media. Including my original home state Nevada which I kinda expected to turn red. But seeing it actually happen is nauseatingย

ย

Im unfollowing every source and person that played a part in this. Including Jubilee which gave a platform to alt right trying to cash out on election clickbait. These people have no backbone.ย
ย

I also blame the news for obsessing about Trump and not focusing on pro Harris. Every time you turn on the tv they're dragging him (rightfully so) but the narrative just made Trump look like a victim to the media to all the clueless voters that have no idea how the government works.ย

I feel similarly. Like THAT was bad, but this time, it was always a possibility. The sun rises and life moves onย :chick3:

Dems need to get some young people on their teams man... Even the celebrities they was using don't have the relevance to the demos they needed to snatch.

Question: if Trump dies like right now, JD Vance will become president, right?

Random thoughtsย

- Four more years of utter chaos and confusion.
- Elon Musk becoming an oligarch in the USA- completely involved in the politics of the countryย

- RFK Jr incharge of health = brain worms for everybodyย

- Kamala's political career dead as a door knob.ย
- JD Vance will probably think about running for POTUS in 2028ย

- Palestine will cease to exist in the next year or so.ย
- Ukraine will become a part of Russiaย

- Transgender folks will probably be sent to conversion campsย

ย

Hope the third party girlies are celebrating all the new found freedom and they really stuck it to the libs. Owned us good.ย
