It's always the same for every country. The riot (first time in 20 years or so) that happened recently in my country was caused by idiotic unemployed uneducated white men :rip:Β I feel so sorry for all the liberal Americans, and especially our community on ATRL

Getting older and wiser (as a European) truly means detaching from American culture while realizing what a complete disaster the US actually is.

Yes. And I have no idea how Democrats are supposed to come back from this because their abysmal standing with (young) men isn't political, it's cultural. There is no candidate, campaign rhetoric, or policy position the Democrats could adapt that would break through the influence that Musk, Rogan, and all those abhorrent streamers and podcasters hold over men.Β

Honestly it's going to take decades to undo this. Parents have really dropped the ball with raising boys I must say.Β

This sums up how I feel more or less.

Β

Anyway, can't wait to be screamed at by liberals and told I'm the problem and that Harris losing is my fault even though I voted for her. Again, just like when I voted for Hillary and Biden.

I still wonder how Obama won 365 electoral votes in 2008. How the support for democrats vanished so easily.Β

The election was driven by men from all ethnicities and races vote for the same candidate like never before. I don't think it's because they disliked Biden but because they ADORE trump

Β

This is just going to make the reported gender division worse, that women are becoming more Progressive and men Conservative.

The world is collectively going right now.

USA, China, Russia, India, EU, all those big powers are going right, USA is just the final nail in the coffin.

It's an alt right's world and you're unlucky to be living in it.

The hate was building since Obama's 2nd term, people became more and more brainwashed by networks saying how he was an illegal, the way they criticized his every move with blatant racism, the way they spewed fake conspiracys like actual news, etc.

Β

This white racist turnout was building for a long time

Bush's war was unpopular, and McCain sunk his own campaign by partnering with Sarah Palin.

Β

2008 was a time when even Hillary Clinton could've won. I don't see Dems coming back from this disastrous defeat ever again.

Β

Thank you, Joe Biden.

Men have been struggling, and there's really no hope in sight. I guess Marianne is right that people will take false hope over no hope.Β

Its because we have completely ceded masculinity and every masculine hobby to the right wing. Gaming, gym going, sports, wrestling, shooting, fishing, ... Everything. It's all linked to right wing politics in a more direct way than ever before.

Β

This is also true of the right wing and say, music or the arts - which they have ceded to the left. But men care about their hobbies more (including all of us with our music! lol), and I think this has been a not insigificant factor in how gen z men have been lost.

2008 was an asterisk in politics, just after the internet took off but pre-social media exploding and also after two wars and a recession.

Β

The Obama coalition has been broken for many reasons, including conservatives successfully pitting groups in the Dem coalition against each other.

Yall aren't ready for Gen Alpha to be super far right because a lot of conservatives are having kids these days

Glad Virginia remained blue in this sick and evil country. I'm done with voting and politics so I'll retreat to my corner, turn off the news and live pretending that the goverment doesn't exist. Maybe those that say there is no point in voting are correct.

***** even mexico Has a woman president right now. I'm starting to think it won't happen anytime soon here at all. A rapist, racist, homophobic that's trying to take away women's rights couldn't be beat. They won't have a woman candidate anytime soon.Β

I really think in the end is very simple: people vote for the persona of the candidate.Β
Β

Obama is very charismatic, not the case with Biden, Hilary or Kamala.

Β

Trump is disgusting for us but he's carismatic for half of the country apparentlyΒ

Why did they vote for him?Β

They're brainwashed conservatives who believe the culture war stuff and Trump's lies.

Some of y'all don't want to hear this because it lives totally outside your bubble, but Twitch/Kick streamers and podcasters are even bigger celebrities than "celebrities" nowadays. Gen Z being conservative + right winger is an indication of this. They follow what people like Logan Paul or Adin Ross have to say.Β

The engagement streamers amass is truly insane when you consider how many concurrent viewers they have pretty much on the daily. Add to the fact that pretty much everything the popular ones do goes viral on social media (Twitter in particular) sort of shows that they have the grasp of the two biggest platforms young people consume.

She's down a point with women from 2020, unfortunately women aren't very progressive either
