Did people just show up to Kamala rallies because they thought they might get a Beyoncรฉ or Charli XCX concert? :deadbanana4:

girl there is no democracy left, trump and the billionaires plans are to control us and dismantle the government

There was no democracy before him, and I know that it doesn't have a future under him. And I know what Trump means for the world, but we survived WW2 and we'll survive USA under Trump.

Once again... as an European watching from afar... I cannot but feel so disgusted that sadly... THAT is the country that rules the world... A country with women voting against each other, inmigrants voting against each other and not guilty people voting for a fellon.

Europe is voting right nowadays too. Now what?

People barely pay attention to artists' music anymore, you think they care who they endorse for president?ย :rip:ย

She held non-stop rallies and met with voters.ย  She tried to appeal to democrats, independents, and conservatives.ย  She was literally running against a racist, rapist, and convicted felon who plotted to overthrow the government.

I wouldn't bother sis, these people never have anything smart to say so they just downvote you or regurgitate the same rhetoric.

Some people are in for a rude awakening and it's still stunning to see how much blame a black woman is getting compared to what you said, a RAPIST a DICTATOR a RACIST etc

I'm from Brazil and the ineligibility of Bolsonaro just made the far right stronger. His supporters won the election for mayors by a landslide and someone on his level of evilness is definetely winning for president in 2026. The world is just getting more extreme every day, it's devastating.

Y' all I'm not delusional or anything, I get the race is over, but is there maybe a small chance that they get tied in the end or not at all? I tried counting the remaining states and even if Kamala wins them it's not enough I think.ย

It's over, over right? Because I already told my friends trump won and they were like "isn't it still going?"ย

what people are not getting is that the problem all this time is the democrats' position on everything. They have gone from a center party, to a right-wing party. And that means that young voters that are democrats do not feel represented.

ย

I'm sure that palestine had a lot to do with a lot of young people not voting for kamala.

ย

And Jill Stein will have the best results for her party ever, I'm 100% sure

Exactly this, I wanna see the voting turnout, how many people choose to boycott the election because I think this will explain why democrat lost the popularity votes

Well... I can't say I'm surprised. It's baffling to me that US is so powerful, yet so stupid at the same time. I hope Putin doesn't invade my country next once Ukraine is done for...

Since this is a music forum..this makes me wonder how this outcome will shift the American music/entertainment landscape. It felt like everyone was just going through a fun/poppy/dance music phase with all these post-COVID era albums and now reality hits once again and it felt like the dark ages are ahead. What will our pop girls do? How will their musical output react to this?

Not completely grounded in any truth, but seeing what happened in 2016-2020 I feel like pop's current flame will be snuffed to make room for a new hip-hop subgenreย :cm:ย Make way for a new Drake

For starters, Trump has made clear he wants no part in helping Ukraine and that Putin has carte blanche to do whatever he wants in Eastern Europe.ย  If we stop aid there, I could see them getting bulldozed and Putin making a play for other countries as well.

I just hate how hopeful everything was before this. The momentum really seemed to be there. People really seemed ready to end Trumpism once and for all. I've never seen so many Democratic yard signs in my life. Everything seemed to be going the right way.ย
ย

And all of it was a complete mirage. Not even close to being true. Where the **** did these Trump voters come from :deadbanana2:ย I'm just absolutely flabbergasted by it all. Complete and utter shock for me that Dems would lose this badly. Literally every gain we made in 2020 has been completely erased and shattered.ย

Celebrity endorsements do nothing. They never have. If anything, they embolden the right-wing message that the Democrats are the party of the elites. This is why I have never understood why people obsess over who Taylor Swift is going to endorse. It's fine when celebrities highlight resources to get registered to vote, but the obsession Democrats have with celebrity endorsements is unhelpful if not harmful.

Yeah I do think that all these celebs going to Dem rallies with similar "I'm a mother, I'm a woman" speeches don't resonate with America much as they should. Still, it's crazy how right-wing propaganda can overcome qualifications and competence when it narrow down to 2 choices. Guess we'll see how this unfolds...

Gender obviously plays a role, as does race, but Kamala losing demographics that Obama did amazingly well with isโ€ฆ something to behold.ย
