ATRL Moderator Popular Post Bloo Posted November 6 ATRL Moderator Popular Post Posted November 6 I know that this is an emotional outcome and many people are going to feel a large amount of shock. But, I just want to take a moment to say it is okay to grieve and mourn tonight, tomorrow, and even the rest of the week (assuming what looks to be the outcome does come to fruition). But, it is important that you stay engaged. Do not just tune out completely until 2026 and 2028. Stay engaged in politics and look into ways you can fight back in the local level. I remember thinking the country would fall apart in 2016 and all the efforts led by protestors to fight back made me feel more optimistic for the future of our country than any election. This result sucks, but it is not the end of the country. We will still be here. We will still fight. We will still remain. So, don't log out. Don't disappear. Stay engaged. Get involved in organizing, protests, ballot initiatives, any union efforts at your place of work, etc. Do whatever you can to fight back. If you stay in this thread, I'm sure you are bound to fight with people in this thread about the best ways to move forward or the best way to interpret this electoral outcome. But hashing out those disagreements is part of the process and it's how we all grow and become stronger. So stay plugged in even if it's difficult. Alright, that's enough of a lecture from me. Good night y'all. 13 10

Vermillion Posted November 6 Posted November 6 Well now the U.S. gets to deal with the judicial crisis on top of the tariff crisis on top of god knows what else. Seeing those criminal cases dismissed will be surreal even though it's built into this. I've always avoided anti-depressants but I'm definitely going to start taking them and bite the bullet. Not looking forward to the predictable arguments here but I've steeled myself for them. What I'm NOT prepared for is losing my health insurance. One day at a time, I don't have a choice. Sigh. 1
Onyxmage Posted November 6 Posted November 6 I kind of expected this to happen but I was just holding out HOPE that we could have our first female president. I hate this country so much but im too poor to move out.

Princess Aurora Posted November 6 Posted November 6 (edited) I'm kinda sad there was no color switch this time :( Overall I'm not surprised by the outcome. Hopefully, it'll be a flop like it was four years ago. Edited November 6 by Princess Aurora
PrettyHurts Posted November 6 Posted November 6 "It's a political victory like our country has never seen before" I'm pretty sure we've elected a president before.. 1

Stay with that attitude and mindset will guarantee another Republican win in 2028 Let's hope Palestine would still be standing in 2028 with that attitude, okay? 1
Calvin Posted November 6 Posted November 6 Harris was never the right candidate. So annoying this loser Trump won. 2
Cruel Summer Posted November 6 Posted November 6 I think with all that Donald can manage to **** up in the next four years, we probably just replaced Reagan as the main villain of modern American history and the most singularly damaging individual for our nation's livelihood. This man is likely the defining president of our lifetimes, and it's abjectly horrifying.
Gelato Posted November 6 Posted November 6 Across the West, people on the left need to wrestle back control of their parties from the right wing liberal consultant class. 1
Marianah Adkins Posted November 6 Posted November 6 Imagine if Biden stayed in the race Based on the margins: Virginia, New Mexico, New Jersey, Illinois, Minnesota, Maine, New Hampshire, Connecticut wouldve flipped 2
RunUpDoneUp Posted November 6 Posted November 6 Yeah, despite my lashings for stein supporters, they're even more of a non-factor in this election than the last. The break was Gen X and MEN of all races. Trump went up with those BUMS. 1

Holy ****! Ja1ebi is PALESTINIAN. Several Palestinians, Lebanese and other Arabs, in Dearborn, especially voted for Jill Stein in high volume because of how active her campaign was in their community and support of Palestine and stopping the genocide. Genocide is hard to swallow for anyone but its especially awful when it your family being exterminated. Please FFS stop calling Arabs who've been personally affected by this conflict "brandead idiots" 4 2 3
