They are just a small part of the reason why Kamala lost. The voter turnout was bad. Β Palestinian Americans and supporters of Palestine do NOT owe their vote to Kamala or the Democratic Party. Β No politician/political party is owed a vote. If a politician/political party wants people to vote for them, they have to EARN it. Β And quite frankly... Kamala hasn't done **** to earn the votes of Palestinian Americans or pro-Palestine supporters.Β 1 1 1
Bhabylon Posted November 6 Posted November 6 i hate this ******* country so much. what an embarrassment.Β
Anthinos Posted November 6 Posted November 6 The right are winning everywhere and unfortunately I don't think that's going to change any time soon. That's the world we live in now. Where do we go from here? I don't understand it but I accept it. What else can you do. People want this kind of politics, then they should get it.
Triton Posted November 6 Posted November 6 Ugh, this country is so ******. They say an empire lasts 250-300 years and the US is right about in that. This country is so misogynistic and racist, an educated black woman vs an unhinged felon and so many people still side with it.Β Β As a gay man in the US I have a pretty privileged life so let me keep on staying in my own little bubble to make myself personally happy and fulfilled and try to block out all the horrible stuff in the world.Β 1 1

shelven Posted November 6 Posted November 6 Will maybe do a longer post with my full thoughts later this week if I feel like it, but the short version is: this election was decided 2-3 years ago when inflation went crazy and the electorate blamed Biden for it. Everything else - abortion, Gaza, protecting democracy, the Biden/Harris switch-up, Biden and Trump's respective cognitive declines, Harris's initial lack of interviews or clear plans, Trump's MSG rally - was all a red herring to distract from the fact that almost every democracy in the world has been punishing its incumbents for inflation. I think Harris's campaign had a lot of issues, but it also feels like she still would have lost if she had fixed those issues, and any other Democrat would have also lost. Β I said in here a few weeks ago that one of the reasons why I found this race so hard to call was that there were really plausible and easy explanations for both a Harris win and a Trump win. Guess we just got the Trump version. Β On a slightly lighter note: it irritates me to no end that we're now going to have to put up withΒ anotherΒ election cycle of AtlasIntel being hailed as the best pollster in the industry Β Although I guess it's arguably true now, so good for them I guess. NYT also did pretty well across the board this cycle. Looks like our fallen queen Ms. Selzer drew a really unrepresentative sample - it's a shame that one unlucky sample will now tank her reputation forever (if she doesn't retire after this) despite a really strong career overall. 7 1
umich Posted November 6 Posted November 6 New Jersey's numbers really shocked me. I was wondering why they hadn't projected her to win here yet.

Oktober Knight Posted November 6 Posted November 6 Project 2025 is gonna be scary AF. Women's rights taken away, racism at its peak, same sex marriage being reversed, discrimination in the workplace, etc, etc, etc. Hard times are ahead. 8
ClashAndBurn Posted November 6 Posted November 6 6 minutes ago, RihRihGirrrl said: The signs were always there but we all ignored them and wanted to have hope.... Β Β Only 28% of the Country thinks we're on the right track and Biden's approval rating is below 40%. No incumbent party has ever won reelection with those numbers. Doesn't matter who the Democratic candidate was going to be, those number were simply to much to overcome. Β 4 years from now, we should definitely run an 'outsider' candidate with a more populist economic message but in this election, I don't think voters would have trusted any Democratic candidate to be the answer to their economic hardships. Four years from now, the nominee will be Josh Shapiro running alongside Liz Cheney or Nikki Haley against JD Vance and Tucker Carlson Β This party is cooked. And so is the country. 1
Capris Groove Posted November 6 Posted November 6 Sigh. Β Well, I voted today and I got a few people to vote who didn't wanna bother. Proud of everyone for turning up. Β 8 1
RihRihGirrrl Posted November 6 Posted November 6 And I hate to say it but the Dems will have to run a heterosexual white male for the next 2 decades.....America will not vote for a women anytime soon 2
Jay07 Posted November 6 Posted November 6 This is obviously what people wanted, the win was overwhelming. But how can so many people want this? The chaos and the hatred and the lawlessness? Is it the economy? Is it racism? Is it anti woke sentiment? I can't understand how so many people would vote for this, let alone in such numbers. 3
karron0624 Posted November 6 Posted November 6 Well, it was great yall, but with a 55r senate, good luck.
