I'm sorry guys for my lack of knowledge but we are in a bar with friend here in Canada and very scared of what we are seeing (Trump leading). Can someone explain how it is not all lost and we can still defeat hate ?

the simplest answer is that none of the swing states have been called yet so we are nowhere closer to knowing who won than we were two weeks ago

Elections come down to really just the swing states. This is (unfortunately) how elections currently work in the US.

what?!?! Omg so I am gonna sound ignorant but just curious, if you are not in a swing state, does it even matter if you vote? I heard that voting for third parties in the US is wasting a vote, and swing state means that it changes the outcome of the election? Why is a swing state important, they

 have more pppl!

All Iowa jokes aside I'm extremely curious to see how Kamala does there. Hoping for the best.

CNN has Trump up 154-27 why aren't they projecting like other networks you guys in here are saying :deadbanana2:

Every network has different standards for when they're comfortable making state calls. For example, The Associated Press has 99 EVs called for Harris and only 120 for Trump (they haven't called Texas).

Why is a swing state have so much power?

From my experience with the 2016 and 2020 elections, the hour of 9-10pm is pivotal in determining which direction this race is going to go. Let's see what happens.

What is up with the photos of the candidates that MSNBC is using? :rip: Kairi Lake looks like she was photographed after coming out of club or something.

No posts about Harris winning New York?

It's like there's polarization happening. All the maga and retirees moving to south and south east, liberals to north.

This NYT article basically confirmed this is what happened over COVID. More Dems moved to Ohio since 2020 than Republicans.

Lichtman calls Georgia for Trump

but he feels confident on Pennsylvania. Saying so far she's performing well in republican counties in PA.

Would be a tiny bit iconic if Kamala lost the popular vote but won the electoral college. I wanna see how Republicans react to that.
