The Fox News poll :deadbanana2:ย Desperately need her to lose the popular vote but win the electoral college because (other than it being the funniest possible outcome) it will get Republicans to turn on the electoral college and that 270 pact might actually go into effect.ย

This the exact kind of white affluent female suburbanite who works remotely in California while living in Arizona that Harris is betting her election chances on ironically.ย

I agree with the notion that she's at her best when she's in an unfriendly setting. I personallyย didn't care for all of her "but Trump" answers but had to remember that this is Fox news and I doubt they've ever told their audience anything truthful about Trump so yeah it could be slightly effective.

ย

I know one thing I'm sick to death of polls! There's definitely gonna be another big polling miss this cycle but the question is to whose benefit?ย

objective early voting numbers are way more important than any poll right now.

She's actually getting praise by a lot of people who aren't die hard trumpers. Along with calling out Brett's hostility towards Harris.ย
ย

But if those (the trumpers on Twitter) are who you're talking about well of course they aren't gonna like it. Nothing she did would ever be satisfactory to them ๐Ÿ˜‚

Fox News interview was okay. I think she held her own with what she was given.ย

We'll find out in a matter of weeks if polling is truly broken, but for now, I have zero faith in it.

ย

Marquette had RFK Jr. at 9% nationally.

ย

Quinnipiac had GA and NC diverging by unbelievable amounts.

ย

Fox News has Trump losing battleground states by 6 points but winning nationally by 2. Not to mention the absurd crosstabs.ย

ย

Whatever happens happens, but it does genuinely feel like we're watching the final gasps of a dying polling industry.ย :gaycat6:

I have you on mute from Dua threads but just to add to the narrative that negative feedback =/= salient or objective observations:

ย

Just a sample from 3 different social media websites. It's a mixed response as everything in this country is. Those who liked her, still like her, those who don't, still don't.ย

ย

The purpose of this interview is just to capitalize on the fact that she wasn't against go into unfriendly territory, and as usual she'll be held to higher standards than her opponent. Nothing new, nothing changed, same old story. There's so few undecideds for a reason.

The #1 issue is that the 2020 polls were horribly off, and no one knows why. Every pollster is afraid of being off again, so they're all changing their methodologies drastically. Some are weighting by 2020 recalled vote, some aren't, some are weighting by party identification, some aren't, etc. Every poll is using a different methodology and it really doesn't make sense to aggregate them together and try to come up with an average. Probably the only useful thing we can glean from them is how they're shifting compared to previous polls from the same pollster.

Pollsters get around <2% response rates when they used to get ~70%. Polling will always be broken now until they can sit people down and poll them in person (good luck!).ย

ย

If by some miracle they're right this time, it'll just be a fluke. It's far too difficult to poll with accuracy now, all you can hope for is precision to form some kind of narrative, but the precision narratives don't matter when it comes to the results. People stopped trusting them post-2016 which already hurt their failing numbers, now they're fighting a battle they already lost.

They also do texts and online panels now. But those seem like they have their own issues. Like, whose answering strange texts from unknown numbers and how many normal people are joining online survey groupsย :gaycat6:
