Redstreak Posted October 15 Posted October 15 Personally I don't know if Rogan is a good idea, could see it backfiring 2 1

I lean towards the latter. I don't think Joe is capable of being that hostile or tough as an interviewer, but at the same time, his audience may not respond well to her. I think it's worth it 1 1

shelven Posted October 15 Posted October 15 I see Rogan as being a fairly low risk but high reward opportunity for her. White men are already by far her worst demographic, so if she really bombs the interview, it's hard to imagine there being a sizeable portion of Rogan's audience that was leaning towards voting for her but now gets turned off because of the interview. But on the flip side, if the interview goes well and Rogan takes the usual approach Communion described where he just nods and accepts anything his interviewee says without any real engagement, there's a decent chance it could convince some soft Trump supporters to flip to her.  3 minutes ago, Harrier said: Depends if you view her as ahead or needing to take risks due to being behind. I lean towards the latter. I also (somewhat) agree with this. I don't view her as being behind, but at best, this race is essentially a tie right now and her theoretical ceiling is higher than Trump's, so she has more power to break that tie in her favour. It's in Trump's best interests to keep the race 50-50 because there's probably not much he can directly do at this point to increase those odds in his favour, but if she can do something to get her odds up to 55-60% without there being much of a risk of it falling to 40-45%, she may as well do it. 10 1

Redstreak Posted October 15 Posted October 15 Also I hope that if Kamala wins one lesson taken forward (though I doubt it) is don't be afraid to primary unpopular incumbents after a less than stellar first term 5 1
Elusive Chanteuse Posted October 15 Posted October 15 I don't think she should do Joe Rogan at all. He's an idiot and won't accept anything she says. Fox News makes sense. 2

I'm not going to think that it's going to change a lot but it's a good idea. She is yet again destroying the narrative that she is "afraid" or that she won't venture into "enemy territory".  my only worry would be Joe Rogan not acting in good faith. At the same time, Joe Rogan has shown himself to be someone who will switch their opinion based on the person they're talking to, so there's a possibility he could very easily be swayed by Kamala. I don't agree. Joe Rogan, despite what people on the left often say, espouses some left-wing/liberal talking points and ideas every now and then. We just only ever hear from him when he's saying something ridiculously stupid like the whole Covid anti-VAX stuff. He's hilariously very easily swayed if he feels the person he's talking to is smart, which Kamala is.Â
Vermillion Posted October 15 Posted October 15 Rogan's a selfish narcissist but he's a showman that knows those that despise him will be dissecting the interview to pounce. He's well aware there's legions of Americans that can't stand him either and my sense is he'll be hellbent on proving them wrong even if not for selfless reasons. Â I genuinely wonder if he'll do Gaza questions with follow-up.
teresaguidice Posted October 15 Posted October 15 rogan is not an incisive or tough interviewer but i think he would push back on very canned talking points and pivots which kamala is extremely reliant on (or "DisCiPliNed AboUt" or whatever). she would have to go into it non political strategist robot'd if it were to be effective. 4
spree Posted October 15 Posted October 15 not a bad idea for both Rogan and Fox News. Shows she's fearless, and not afraid. She's got a great, competent team behind her, which know the pulse of American Pop culture. She's firing on all cylinders. 3
Blade Posted October 15 Posted October 15 I wouldn't be surprised if well over 2/3 of Joe Rogan's US listeners are not voting for Harris or have voted for any Dem in their lives.  If she can move even 0.5% of those through her interview it's a win. 7
