I'm not a true blue leftist and I'm voting for Kamala but it's worrisome that Democrats cave to republican rhetoric about being weak and then they find themselves going more right on policy, especially foreign policy. It's a hard pill to swallow but I'm realizing it now. It's happened three elections in a row and it looks like it won't end. Me, a simple democrat who likes to think of themselves as progressive am getting tired of it.ย ย There's a sliver of hope that maybe she'll admit she lied the whole time and become a progressive champion when in officeโฆ right? Right? ย ย ย Unfortunately I think part of her shift right at least rhetorically is some weird idea that she has to prove she's not some soft lady candidate who can't handle things. instead though its making her look like she has no convictions 2

Baby Dancer Posted October 11 Posted October 11 That Allred add is a little frustrating. You could see it as him agreeing that a trans girl is a girl and not a boy, but him talking about his Christianity is gonna make people think he's trans exclusive. 1

Blade Posted October 11 Posted October 11 I have no clue what to expect from the NYT AZ poll coming this weekend. They literally went from Kamala +5 to Trump +5 in their last 2 surveys. I guess I'm hoping for a Kamala +1 but i'll be happy with a tie and Trump +1 as well for AZ. ย I'm extremely nervous for their PA poll.ย ย The thing is, this will be their first state polls of PA and AZ where some people have actually already voted. I hope the polls come tomorrow not Sunday. 1

Learn from what's happened in Europe. https://ips-dc.org/lessons-from-europe-the-left-cant-win-by-running-to-the-right/ ย Even in America, Hillary picks a terrible centrist VP and she loses. Had she picked Bernie or Warren, she likely would have ran away with the race. Kamala had high momentum when she picked Walz when his progressive credentials were in the spotlight (arguing for free school lunch, defending trans kids); she is now stalking after neutering his freedom to be himself and focusing on chasing the nonexistent Liz Cheney supporters (reminder, Liz Cheney lost by a large margin and is deeply unpopular). Your arguments are baseless assumptions. No data supports it.ย The site you linked are just opinions, yes they reference studies for some of their points but no study points to Hillary choosing a more progressive VP leading to a victory.ย

In what world does it make sense to say the polls tightening, which we've been saying would happen for months now, because Kamala isn't appealing to people who have already chosen not to vote her? ย the entire reason the "polls are tightening" is because of the flood of right wing pollsters, not because Kamala is saying things that are objectively in line with the electorate.ย 2 1 1
