Harris at least acknowledges climate change and the Palestinian people as victims.

....of a natural disaster or something like it though. Harris has never referred to them as victims of Israel and its continued bombing. If anything, just like several pathetic members here, she entertains the idea that they are "victims of Hamas"...which is even worse. :michael:

You can't consider people victims then turn around and send more weapons to kill them, or spread lies about them being rapists which only gives Israel more excuses to continue the genocide.

True. But again, she at least acknowledges that there needs to be a sense of humanity shown to how Israel is handling the situation. Trump isn't even doing that.

I recognize that Harris is complicit in the genocide that's occurring, and me saying that isn't a defense of her. She should have the names of the dead civilians listed to her 24/7 until she takes a hard stance against Israel. But it is a reason I feel that she is a better option than Trump.

Yes, the platitudes are meaningless as far as policy goes. But I don't think it's an understatement to say that if a president is not acknowledging Palestinian civilians at all, and would even go so far as to call all of them terrorists… that is a dangerous message to send. It empowers those who think that way and even slowly influences people to forget that Palestinians are in fact innocent.

It seems silly but lowkey AOC playing League of Legends is how I found out about her back in 2018, and from then on went deeper into politics.

Kinda need to do a raid with Timmy ASAP.

I get your point sis, but I geniunely do not believe that anything will change after she gets elected. That's why I find the sentiments and all of the "Luv Palestine, but imma sit it out until January!!" posts here quite ******* disrespectful to the people that are still being murdered everyday. If you can't pressure her when she's collecting your votes, then she wont gaf about you after she wins. Good luck "moving her to the left".

We'll have to wait and see, I guess. Maybe the ceasefire that she's been working on is close.

But that's the thing. I don't think we'll get a ceasefire. I don't think she'll be moving left on Israel. It's.. possible I guess? But I'm not voting for her on possibilities. At least not on this.

But we can't have a president labeling Palestine as an entire nation as terrorists. When the president speaks, people listen. And it's even been said here a few times, Harris is great when she isn't talking policy. Her pointing out that Israel is not just retaliating against Hamas, but also murdering civilians is an important distinction she makes in comparison to Trump. She reminds people that there is another side to the story Israel is trying to push. I mean; there's a reason Netanyahu seems to be favoring Trump and is seemjngly sabotaging the Harris campaign.

NONE of this is a defense of Harris though. Her inaction is disgusting and she will likely see the gates of hell for allowing such atrocities to happen should she win the presidency. But I can't pretend that I see her and Trump as the same on this, and I do feel her influence over how Americans view Israel/Hamas/Palestine will be far better for moving forward than the narratives Trump has tried to push.

It's also worth reiterating, if I didn't live in AZ, I would be voting for Claudia de la Cruz (sorry but Stein is an inept leader who needs to allow better leadership to take over in the Green Party). But because I do live in AZ, I can't justify voting against what I think would serve my better interests. Claudia isn't going to win this election. Trump being president makes it harder to fight both personally and socially, when I have to debate against the words of the President of the United States calling all of Palestine terrorists, or at best, collateral damage.

My vibes don't matter here nor does anyone else's I suppose, but in roughly early September I had a slight feeling Harris could pull this out.

No more.

Would be a broken record to unpack why, again, for the 7th time, but I'm sad. Mostly exhausted. But not surprised. That's all. I'm done, can't wait for this to all be over.

But ultimately, I've decided that the best way forward living in a swing state is to vote for Harris and hope that she wins so that there is a rejection of something much worse.

I'm not afraid to say that this "rejection" as you put it, is something that I consider to be a valid reason to vote for Dems even if they are a shitty party. I cannot tell you how sad it makes me to see people around me make a sharp turn into right wing extremism. It scares me as a gay person and it scares me for trans people to see people be emboldened by Trump winning again and the kind of filth they spew about us. Just a couple months ago my neighborhood was experiencing a wave in hate crimes against the gay community and it just makes my blood boil to think these people will have any sense of power over us if Trump wins. Luckily no one was killed but some were seriously injured.

I'll admit this kind of angle is not much different from republicans who are voting for Harris simply because Trump is a criminal and unfit to be President despite not agreeing with a single policy Harris has.

I'd like to believe that at least mine, whether it's rooted in the privilege of living in the US where we'll never experience something like the Middle East is, is still rooted in trying to help at least SOME people in the US from whatever harm they'll be under a Trump admin. In 2020, an FBI report showed hate crimes increased 20% during Trump's term.

While it's also true Dems abortion policy, in practice, would save women's lives, specifically Black and Brown women, it really feels like we're just voting for the idea of saying abortion is popular since the chances of Harris actually passing abortion laws are slim to none. Unless of course 2 out of the 4 of the most extreme SC justices just drop dead during her term if elected. But speaking of...imagine how horrible it would be if Trump got elected and the Supreme Court went to 7-2 or god forbid 8-1. I hate how bringing up the SC is somehow a "resist lib" talking point now, **** you Hillary, but it does genuinely scare me what they can and will do unless they die off during a Dem presidency.

As soon as I saw this clip I knew they would do this. Harris' loyalty to Biden, while understandable on an interpersonal level, is becoming a big political liability. She needs to throw him under the bus a bit I feel, but she is refusing to. Particularly on foreign policy and on inflation.

Kamala is too nice. Give us some political ruthlessness mama

I genuinely think she's going to pull through (much to my dissatisfaction, as I firmly believe that the Dem party will use her win as validation for their very concerning rightwing pivot.)

This apparently happened and the post was deleted. Again I'm just the messenger and don't endorse any party involved.

Lol Literally just ignore how she's gone to the right of prior dem admins on immigration, genocide, starting a war with Iran (literally foreign policy is where the president has the MOST power), cop funding, military funding, fracking, oil drilling permits, increased privatization of medicare.
