The narrative before Biden dropped & a little after was making substantial inroads with young men but it's swung back to Kamala/Dems We can look at the big, front-facing numbers all we want; +5 here, +2 there, but what really matters are these granular stats showing Kamala matching or coming close to matching Biden in 2020 and tying or outperforming Trump in very key, often Republican-loyal metrics. Was the answer all along simply not nominating an octogenarian? ย 3

They simply understand the importance. ย I feel like we're kind of getting back into that, but it's a slow process. 5

FameFatale Posted September 24 Posted September 24 Voting access in my state is the pits. My sister was in college trying to vote in the 2016 election and she had to physically go up to the courthouse and fill out a ballot and show proof she was a college student who wouldn't be in town on election day. They wouldn't let her do mail in voting because she wasn't disabled or over 65.ย 1

dabunique Posted September 24 Posted September 24 u kno i always worry about my Florida ย in 2008, when Obama flipped da state, we had people in long lines waiting to vote after 7 pm i'm scared dat this year might be sumthin like this and DeSantis will send forces to prevent this ย

A lot of people are uninformed on how to vote or even check their voter registration. Trust me , I know. I have been making all my younger friends vote and they're so confused, granted you're correct that they seemingly don't care that much. But a know many people who work huge shifts (bartenders) or two jobs in one day and I think only 28(?) states offer time off to vote. It's ridiculous this isn't a federal day for us to vote and get paid.ย ย I am not ignorant, and obviously that isn't the main or only reason young people don't vote that much. I was being silly, but I still think what I said holds some truth. It is a combination of disinformation or lack of voter information combined with the crazy work hours in America AND young people's nihilism Sorry! ย

Sannie Posted September 24 Posted September 24 For those worried about election certification shenanigans. I don't trust Kemp, but we don't *need* GA. NC does have a Republican veto-proof majority in their legislature so that sucks. Rust Belt + NV is the way to go.ย 3
