Not looking good for Trump's campaign. The narrative before Biden dropped & a little after was making substantial inroads with young men but it's swung back to Kamala/Dems

I have no actual data to back this up other than anecdotal but I think the reason retired older people vote more than young people isโ€ฆ WE ARE WORKING! Like girl why don't we get a federal day to vote ๐Ÿ’€

You sound really ignorant with this comment. There are so many ways to vote besides voting on actual election day. A majority of states do give time off to go and vote as well. Very few young people work 12+ hour shifts, the average time open for polls in each state.

ย

If someoneย wants*ย to vote, they will find a way without using a job as an excuse.

We can look at the big, front-facing numbers all we want; +5 here, +2 there, but what really matters are these granular stats showing Kamala matching or coming close to matching Biden in 2020 and tying or outperforming Trump in very key, often Republican-loyal metrics. Was the answer all along simply not nominating an octogenarian? :jonny:ย

It's because older people grew up during time periods when they saw real-life consequences of voting or not voting. They simply understand the importance.

ย

I feel like we're kind of getting back into that, but it's a slow process.

Yeah this always baffled meย :rip:ย here in Sweden we always have election day on the second sunday of September together with excessive availabity to early voting

Voting access in my state is the pits. My sister was in college trying to vote in the 2016 election and she had to physically go up to the courthouse and fill out a ballot and show proof she was a college student who wouldn't be in town on election day. They wouldn't let her do mail in voting because she wasn't disabled or over 65.ย

ahhh the daily pollarcoaster, something always makes me feel good and something always makes me feel bad lolย

ย

if she wins, i do think she's gonna have a HARD first term bc she likely won't have either the House and/or the Senate, but cross that bridge, as they sayย :eli:

Oh wow come for me queen. A lot of people are uninformed on how to vote or even check their voter registration. Trust me , I know. I have been making all my younger friends vote and they're so confused, granted you're correct that they seemingly don't care that much. But a know many people who work huge shifts (bartenders) or two jobs in one day and I think only 28(?) states offer time off to vote. It's ridiculous this isn't a federal day for us to vote and get paid.ย
ย

I am not ignorant, and obviously that isn't the main or only reason young people don't vote that much. I was being silly, but I still think what I said holds some truth. It is a combination of disinformation or lack of voter information combined with the crazy work hours in America AND young people's nihilism Sorry! ย

I'm not gonna drag you cuz ur a queen to me, but I'd argue you sound a lil ignorant for saying very few young people work 12 plus hours. I worked 55-60 hours a week just to get by for two years when I was 24-26 and I don't even have anyone to care for other than myself. Imagine a young single person with kid. I know quite a few people who work those hours still. American work hours are nuts, the least our federal government can do is give us a paid hour or two to vote be for real.

ย

luv you tho queenย

This is interesting! This district onlyย justย voted for Trump in 2020 (by +0.1% I think), so Harris being up 7 there is hopefully a sign of strength across the Rust Belt/Midwest.

it's just so interesting bc in all of our lifetimes.mp3, Obama easily won Iowa. Hope to see it shift back towards the Dems!

Oh, it'll be a lame duck session for sure lol. But the main point is to stave off any harm Trump and the GOP could do. It's stupid, but it's where we're at.ย

When I was in grad school, I had a full-time job and did 2 internships simultaneous. It was hell. I remember once not having a single day off for 3 months, so I know.

ย

That said, I was one of the few who was that ambitious, but I am where I am now because of that hard work. Too many people coast these days. I disagree that so many young people are working so much that they cannot find time to vote. It's an excuse.ย

For those worried about election certification shenanigans. I don't trust Kemp, but we don't *need* GA. NC does have a Republican veto-proof majority in their legislature so that sucks. Rust Belt + NV is the way to go.ย

Once again, democrats chasing after "never trump" republicans like they have the last 3 elections, instead of voters like @Communionย @ClashAndBurnย who want the party to stop funding genocide and a push for good healthcare in this countryโ€ฆ.

ย

They've made points that sometimes this party is utterly useless, more often than not
