It's crazy because almost all of my dad's friends are Trumpers and yet he's not. Maybe I just got lucky and got two good parents because my dad just always asks me who I'm supporting and then supports them too. :rip:

Yes those quizzes are weirdly worded I don't trust them. But omg you have exp in criminal justice!? Are you excited for a former prosecutor to be our president seeing as how she says it in every speech that she was a former prosecutor!

There's a conversation on how the education differences aren't really as pronounced reflections of income because education doesn't directly translate to an income binary but the polarization on income is sadly changing as well. 

 

Dems are abandoning poor people for those considered professional-managerial workers. The ultra rich still vote Republican but below them seems to be switching. Dems now courting managers over workers. 

I read a really interesting paper recently that discussed this

 

Over time, you see affluent voters shifting more towards democrats, which has lead to more of a "u-shaped" voter base. 

 

(the paper also discusses similarities and differences in messaging between party leaders or among democrats from different districts amidst shifts in the coalition)

The Teamsters' lack of endorsement (and particularly the polling of its members) will hopefully finally kill the nonsensical and repeatedly disproven theory that Trump's support has had more to do with economic frustration than racism and xenophobia. White men without a college degree as a voting block simply do not care about which candidate is actually better for their interests. It has always been that Trump gives them an outlet to let out their previously bottled in feelings that "the America I recognize is changing" and that they're worried they're being "replaced". 
 

Despite rooting for Bernie in 2016 and 2020, my one big frustration with him was always that he tried to give credibility to the idea that most Trump supporters are only Trump supporters because they're poor and that they wouldn't support him if someone else spoke to their economic fears better. They would still support him because their fear isn't that they're poor, it's that they're losing their livelihoods to people who don't look like them.
