Of course there's not just Cubans in Miami :rip: Are you defining all Latinos in Miami as socially conservative? ย I mean, I'm not stopping you because I don't know the context of how long you've lived there - I'm just going by relatives that previously lived in Orlando and folks that worked in Florida campaigns, including in Miami, that I'm still in touch with.ย

ย

The polling, studies and focus groups from the last decade indicate that the majority of Cubanos in Miami are conservative and have played a huge role in swinging the state red.

ย

A lot of Democrats paint a broad brush in their Latino outreach at their peril, which has been written about extensively in South Florida and South Texas.ย

I'd say the large majority of them are. The Venezuelans, Colombians, and Central Americans in Miami are just as conservative as the Cubans. Orlando has a larger Puerto Rican population and I believe on average they lean more left.

Clinton still talking about Bernie and calling him a "sexist". But her husband is a whole predator.

Right? Her husband, who she stood by for decades after he very publicly cheated on her, even with many people saying she "probably deserved it for being an unlikeable shrew," was literally besties with Epstein. And BERNIE is the sexist? Yeah ******* right. :skull:ย

The partner that cheated on her and she made the active choice to stay with him because divorce would hurt her political future? :ahh:ย

Her partner is a predator and an associate of a child rapist.

Exactly. In addition to the friends and company she kept. All the more reason she should keep her mouth SHUT about trying to brand other men as "sexist".

ย

The fact that everything has to be dumbed down and explained to him is exhausting and I'm not doing it anymore. If he gets it, he gets it, if he doesn't, he doesn't.

Thanks for this comment. I've long suspected that, including (anecdotally) that the majority of Puerto Ricans in Florida have always leaned more left than the other groups.ย

you're still right IMO, I interact very frequently with the elderly & to this day I can attest Miami Cubans are still the most right conservative leaning followers to this day. Pretty much any Latino demographic besides Cubans tend to be more progressive or at least independent thinkers yet Cubans to this day are documented to be more right leaning so broadly pushing that all Miami Latinos are right leaning is a straight up lie. Cubans still have more voter turnout than most demographics, because why? They connect more with the Right leaning ideology so they all mostly still praise upon it since most are white passing. Just because you're Latino & you use AAVE in your posts doesn't apply to the reality of modern Latino Miamians... Cuban's really do live in their own bubble

The GOP whiffed this nomination so ******* hard. Any other candidate would be faring better than Oz against Fetterman, who they could have at least won against by running attack ads against his vigilante past that he refuses to apologize for. But now theyโ€™re stuck with a Muslim TV snake oil salesman who actively turns off the base.

ย

Does the GOP not know the voters theyโ€™ve cultivated? How can they not even recognize that a Muslim candidate would be a massive turn off to their coddled white Christian nationalist voters?

Both Bernie and Bill can be sexist tbhย :gaycat:ย Men are trash wbk.

Thatโ€™s why we need to look to more women leaders.ย :gaycat5:

I know that grocery store clip is months old, but how is it that everything that comes from Ozโ€™s campaign seems like self-parody? :skull:ย If I didnโ€™t know any better Iโ€™d think the Gravel teens or some saboteurs were secretly running Ozโ€™s campaign. I guess the GOP just thought heโ€™d be another successful TV personality turned politician like Trump.

ย

Inb4 the Lincoln Project starts putting out ads casting doubt on his US citizenship and declaring that the Senate should remain Muslim-free

I'm assuming you're referring to the other poster as I'm not Latino and don't live or have ever lived in Florida :rip:ย

ย

As for you're "white passing" comment, I posted this several weeks ago here but it's very relevant - it's a really sensitive conversation in terms if immigration and assimilation but it needs to be unpacked further in politics which I haven't seen which is unfortunate.

ย

Also I recognize that map now from your link that was trending in some political circles on social media for a few weeks so thanks for putting up the whole PDF.

By turning off black voters in Philly regarding incarceration and forms of arrest - I can see it.ย

ย

But ironically there'd be crossover with a lot of the culturally resentful white-working class voters who'd think he had it coming that Oz is now actively turning off and Fetterman has the chance to win.

ย

Regardless of Fetterman presumably winning against Oz, it'd still be interesting to unpack whether that whole narrative depresses turnout from black voters. Maybe Shapiro brings them out and they end up voting for Fetterman regardless, or they vote for Shapiro but leave the Fetterman line blank like many black voters did with Hillary in Detroit, although I'm not sure if that's been debunked.
