People are saying this Trump expose is making DeSantis more likely to be the Republican nominee, but am I the only one who doesn’t see that happening at all? Trump is the Republican Party at this point. When the FBI raid happened, everyone including DeSantis rushed to defend him. The party must know that no one besides Trump could generate the enthusiasm he has, and if he’s not the nominee he could easily encourage his base to sit out and it would work. There are arguments being made that Republicans could just get fed up and think Trump has too much baggage to be the nominee again regardless of whether or not they agree with him, but anyone who could ever be convinced Trump is a criminal and terrible person already believes that. Even the swing voters who vote for him do. Trump has survived so much **** so far that it’s hard to imagine anything really sticking and the party giving up on him come 2024.

^DeathSantis is just Mitt Romney 2.0.

If Trump can’t win against Biden, DeSantis won’t be doing it.

I'd really like to see the U.S. government just disband the Republican Party but 'tis a pipe dream

Just a friendly reminder that she’s exactly who progressives say they want.

I don't think Trump will legally be able to run in 2024

I think DeSantis is not tested on a national stage but he'll be the nominee.

I also think Biden should not run again, nor should Kamala or Pete. Love the Bern but he's too old.

I am guessing we'll get something like Newsom vs DeSantis in 2024 and lower voter turnout.

Nah. Biden's going to be encouraged to run again due to his approvals rebounding and because Dark Brandon memes making him think he's hip and cool to younger voters. And the DNC won't allow a legit primary against an eligible incumbent after what happened to Carter in 1980, so this is merely wishcasting. Trump will face zero consequences because the legal system is meant to benefit people like him and punish people like you and me.

2024 will be Biden v. Trump.

DeSantis is not Romney 2.0 and Newsom is not getting nominated, let alone running in 2024, unless Joe dies at this point :rip:

I'm not crossing any bridge of hypotheticals for Biden replacements until death or unavoidable dementia.

Reagan was able to carry over a third term for George HW despite never being seen his last two years for Alzheimer's thanks almost entirely due to overwhelming goodwill from his early years that somehow even glossed over the AIDS crisis and Iran-Contra. Biden won't get anything in the galaxy of that grace from the public obviously, nor should he be granted it.

2024 is DeSantis' race to lose at this point. Biden's only shot at winning is if Trump is nominated, and it's next to nil.

Even if inflation is "solved" (itself a widely subjective concept), his achilles heel with the base will be no executive orders on wider student loans. Implying they're ungrateful or lazy isn't going to help. :coffee2: Healthcare I could unpack here but it's done enough so I won't bother.

Donald Trump: *says he wants to help poor people and the working class*

Donald Trump: *doesn't do any  of that*

You: "HOW CAN PEOPLE BE SO BLIND TO HIS LIES? AMERICAN POLITICS IS DUMB!"'

Nancy Pelosi: *says she  would love a single-payer system /but that such simply isn't possible/*

Nancy Pelosi: *doesn't do any  of that*

You: "Excuse me, did you not HEAR what she said?"

Pelosi, like most of the rest of the Democrats, do not want a healthcare system that's any better than Obamacare at this point. They're too protective of Obama's ego and legacy and doing anything that would improve upon our ghastly, disastrous healthcare would be the worst possible insult to Obama.

That's why she voted against it in 2003, and why she doesn't even support it being voted on in her own home state of California, which is run by a permanent Democratic supermajority and trifecta that doesn't want to even hold a vote on a single payer healthcare system due to Newsom and the state legislature being bought and paid for by the health insurance lobby and Big Pharma lol

The other thing to consider re:Trump is that it'll be impossible for them to find an impartial jury for his crimes, so he's likely to get off on that technicality alone.

Well, I guess I’ll leave this here before it blows up shortly.

I seen this yesterday and read that it’s a few years old (just now out for the book)

Hillary didn’t like Bernie and Bernie didn’t like Hillary.

Other than riling up the KHive, there was no need for her to do this. Bernie's not running again in 2024 as long as Biden does (and frankly, he'll run just to make Bernie keep his promise).

Warren's lying continuing to damage progressivism as a whole and driving a wedge into an already dead and decapitated movement. :katie:

Yeah this is basically where I’m at. Trump should have been barred from holding office after Jan 6 and the fact that he got away with it completely just goes to show that he suffers no actual consequences for his actions.

Making post after post worshiping Pelosi is every bit as weird as maga people constantly praising Trump
