Harris doesn't really have these problems generally. Harris's main problem is that Biden was an unpopular president, but she isn't Biden even if her policies aren't that different. If she can differentiate herself from him, which I think she has already done to an extent, I think people will vote for her simply so we can move on from the Obamas, Clintons, Trumps, and Biden and try something new. I used to always think that Donald Trump would destroy the Republican party, but I think it's going to be the other way around. Although I think Trump being Trump is a big part of why he will lose, I think the main reason will be because the Republican party has become too extreme for the average American. The difference between the right wing scare tactics and left-wing scare tactics is that the the scare tactics used by the Republicans do not manifest in the real world, and therefore are not actually affecting the average American. The average American is not worried about trans people or about these fake culture wars that Republicans rely so heavily on. Meanwhile, when Democrats talk about abortion and rights being taken away and extremism, the Republicans are passing bills that legalize these types of things that actually affect American people. They're not just arbitrary culture issues that don't matter, they're having a tangible impact on the population. I understand that polls may have underestimated Trump in the past, but 2024 is completely different. Trump is not new anymore and he's not exciting to people and people don't view him as a newcomer that can change things up. That made him appealing to people the last couple of times around we now know don't exist. And we're seeing that in the polls with troubles to get past his ceiling. Anyways, it's going to be close, no matter what. And that is depressing, but a close win is still a win. 3
