All the major networks employ pundits with some level of ideological diversity or peculiarity, including Fox News.ย

The GOP isn't going to admit they likely had much stronger attacks planned against Shapiro and now have to pivot.ย I just know the Trump campaign is kicking and screaming. 3 months is not enough time to properly design and execute a counter strategy. ย Biden dropping out was already enough to throw them off and leave them with the old, rotting candidate. Dems picking a VP unifying all their factions is going to toast the Republicans, especially when JD Vance offers Independent voters NOTHING different from Trump other than casual use of mascara. 6

Calling them names, just as you call me names, is not engaging with them. Having meaningful conversations, and trying to understand their point of view, even if you strongly disagree with it, makes a world of difference. ย I understand what you're saying, but I would say that, yes, most of us engage because it's impossible not to, even in some of the most 'progressive' cities. Plenty of us were also born and raised by these people. I don't know how much more engagement you could ask for than that. Being conditioned by that environment will inevitably make you understand it. I ran far away from it thank god, but I always found their psychology to be fascinating, and now I study it for both work and leisure.ย ย Speaking of, if anyone here wants a killer book recommendation, I've been raving about "Doppelgรคnger" by Naomi Klein all year. It has one of the most compelling perspectives on the far right movement & mindset that I've ever read. She's progressive, but uniquely critical of liberals and very open-minded about how and why the far right has become so pervasive. She covers a ton of different topics, but she has a way of flipping your mind around to help you see from the 'other side' and it's such a worthwhile read. Highly recommend.ย 2
