Blade Posted August 6 Posted August 6 2 hours ago, Blade said: Incoming @NausAllien post even though he was saying Shapiro was all but confirmed: "Of course Kamala chooses Walz, it represents just how flip floppy she is " I almost hit the nail on the head. He's here trying to spin the Walz choice as another doomsday scenario (just like he would have framed Shapiro's choice). 3

It will be easy for them to create a caricature of Walz and turn off independent and low-information voters. They were struggling to find a way to attack Kamala, but with Walz, it is pretty easy. This is as bad as Trump picking Vance. You do know that they will just post the same thing on Shapiro right? Esp considering that Shapiro has some red flags that is basically Fox News fodder. Hell they'll call any Dem socialist. Biden who is a right wing democrat is even called a socialist for godsake Its one thing to remain realistic but its another thing to be fatalistic for the sake of being one.
Aden Posted August 6 Posted August 6 This is an election where 99% of voters were already decided far before the VP pick or Trump's attempted assassination. No amount of BLM protest pics or emails about "sOcIaLiSm!!!" is going to change that, and this was still fact when Biden was in the running. What matters most in this election is who can get that largest turnout. It's a really good thing that moderates, progressives, and leftists across the board are feeling good about the Harris-Walz ticket. What we really needed is enthusiasm and voter turnout which is what this ticket has the potential to boost. History will remember Biden kindly for setting aside his ego, reading the room, and ultimately stepping aside for Kamala. 3 1

Vermillion Posted August 6 Posted August 6 Fetterman CANNOT and WILL NOT take full credit for this on my watch NOR do I believe Shapiro's camp's excuses to Fox that they had no idea Cherelle in Philly was producing that video without their knowledge. Bull****. The oppo was too intense with issues for even moderates, end of story. Nothing else to say. The deficits massively outweighed this idiotic notion the other options hurt her in PA. 7
Beyonnaise Posted August 6 Posted August 6 (edited) Broke my ATRL retirement to post about the Greenberg case on here with my knowledge of Shapiro's involvement because I thought it might get totally ignored when he was being discussed. Seems like it actually might have played a role Any time the media would have spent on the labyrinthine details of a true crime case would have been time wasted for the campaign to make the election about Trump/Vance. Butters Posted August 6 Posted August 6 FWIW my roommate (Jewish liberal) is fuming and says anti-semitism is the reasoning behind Shapiro's veep campaign falling apart and is reconsidering voting this election. I wonder how widespread this sentiment is, and whether those antisemitism attacks will land and have any impact on a traditionally very reliable voting block. I can't help but feel that Kamala will have no choice but to align herself towards the center/right on Israel to combat those allegations and appease them 2

Kamala's husband is also Jewish, by the way. You guys throw around "antisemitism" so much that many people are numb to it now. Damn.

As for appeasing the center-right on Israel where is the current Overton Window? Trump's party has given up on a two-state solution. Jared wants to build luxury condos on the beaches. The only thing stopping them is the populist wing's aversion to the neocons wet dreams for war with Iran. 1 1

And Walz is Pro-Israel based on his Congressional record

Bears01 Posted August 6 Posted August 6 We LOVE a unifying pick for our party, even though we hate this ghoul 2

Maybe it'll come into play when Shapiro's running for reelection. Assuming he isn't made Secretary of State, AG, or… dare I say, Ambassador to Israel
bunnyeyes Posted August 6 Posted August 6 Excited for @GhostBox to turn into a Walz's Wins account as promised 11
Mike91 Posted August 6 Posted August 6 Centrist dems love accusing the left of being anti-semitic despite the fact that our candidate in '16 and '20 was literally a Jewish man and the candidate we support this year has a Jewish husband. Your problem is that we're not zionists and genocide supporters. Be clear about it. 5

I'm not throwing around antisemitism, I'm glad it was Walz and disagree that antisemitism had anything to do with it. but as a non jew I dont feel like its my place to tell him that, and am just wondering if his reaction is any indication of widespread Jewish american sentiment

I've seen dozens of tweets expressing that sentiment. But of course, the chronically online echo chamber dwellers here will deny it 2
