GraceRandolph Posted August 6 Posted August 6 The DNC really screwed us by going with Hillary in 2016. It was clear after 2008 that it just wasn't meant to be, but they thought they could force her down our throats if she was up against a buffoon like Trump. If they'd let Sanders/Williamson run in 2016, they'd take Trump down and pave the way for Williamson/Harris being the ticket in 2024.ย ย

I think it would take multiple blowout defeats rather than the close contests we've been getting lately.ย ย The issue for the GOP is that the more cycles pass where the GOP candidates are clearly unhinged, the more these "Never Trumpers" and self-described independents essentially become Democrats (regardless of if they'll ever formally identify as Democrats). ย My dad was a Bush-Obama-Romney-Clinton voter. Sannie Posted August 6 Posted August 6 So the event tomorrow is really early in the morning so we're all gonna wake up to the vice president pick.

They still consider themselves to be conservative but "find themselves agreeing with Democrats now". 2

I think Obama felt bad that he beat her in 2008 and so he pushed hard for her. It would probably have been better if Hillary was the nominee in 2008 and then Obama would have run in 2016.
