shelven Posted August 5 Posted August 5 Happy birthday @Vermillion!! Thanks for everything you do to keep this thread a great archive of the race and source of discussion Β And very thoughtful of Kamala to wait until tomorrow to announce Shapiro so that she doesn't ruin your day 7
Sannie Posted August 5 Posted August 5 Woah, I had no idea NC was this close in 2020.Β Β 49.93% to 48.59% Β Could Kamala take it this year? How much has it trended left/right?

How much has it trended left/right? Mark Robinson is the furthest right of any politician running for office in the country and seems to hopefully be imploding with his abortion revelations. Β I have no idea if that'll skew anything but there are consistently double standards on hypocrisy that Dems are held to in the state. Β Then again a lot of pundits say to never nationalize Governor's races. Β If Cal Cunningham hadn't cheated I'm still convinced he would've won.

Imagine your husband saying you're not white but he loves you, any way. And didn't even denounce the white supremacists who are saying vulgar and racists remarks about her all because one, he's a racist himself and two, he doesn't want to upset his base by going after them. Even in defense of his wife. She's a dummy and deserves him.Β Not trying to justify, but love makes you do weird things. Reminds me of this girl at my work who used to be super liberal and then fell in love with my ultra-right-wing co-worker and she now is a fully submissive trad-wife who won't even show her ankles because she's not allowed to. Vermillion Posted August 5 Posted August 5 And right on schedule, as I predicted, a proxy war re: VP vis-a-vis Never Trumpers and the progressives formerly in the Dem base. Β Β

Funny you say that, all the craziness with the VP pick actually made me start re-watching Scandal over the weekend (I never finished it, I only got up to season 3 or so).Β
