I don’t think they would’ve announced it if they thought Pelosi didn’t have the votes. But I do agree he’s no Pelosi

??

Pelosi always has the votes.

It’s just a matter of if Reps are still on board for the final vote

Chuck Schumer couldn't wait literally a FEW MORE HOURS before announcing his reconciliation deal??

We know he's no Pelosi, but damn, at least be as strategic as McConnell. :deadbanana4:

Even when Schumer does something smart/tactical for once in his miserable career, he STILL manages to **** things up, for example:

He announced this deal while they were literally voting for the FINAL PASSAGE of this bill. A bill that would literally give free healthcare to severely wounded veterans for life. A pathetic excuse of a “leader”

Can we get new Leadership in both houses next year? Cause chile. :rip:

Like Pelosi is just... she needs to retire and let someone else start leading. I'm sorry but we're going to be BONED if we don't start getting new blood in House leadership while they're all currently pushing 90. Utterly ridiculous that they've held onto their positions this long. :skull:

And Schumer... is an all-around disaster. He straight-up needs to go entirely. It's a shame AOC wouldn't be able to beat him in a primary, but he sucks and shouldn't even be in the Senate at all at this point. Let alone leading it.:rip:

I basically view Pelosi as a more corrupt version of Harry Reid. An old establishment figure who’s been needing to be replaced for YEARS, but I give credit for good political Saviness and knowing how to play the game and being able to get her caucus in line when it comes to crunch time. Don’t like her, new blood needed, but I can respect some of what she’s been able to do.

Schumer is just straight up incompetent. I can’t even criticize him for being the usual old corrupt piece of **** politician that makes up the OVERWHELMING majority of our government, because he’s honestly just such a joke :rip:

Even when Tulsi has a point (she does here) can you STOP posting her like she’s worth anything :rip: there is PLENTY of valid criticism directed at Biden and democratic establishment corrupt pieces of crap, but using bottom of the barrel TRASH like Tulsi Gabbard and Lauren Boebert to make your point, looks awful, I’m just saying

I wonder why Manchin changed his mind like that. I hope he was blackmailed or something

Not an economist, so while the White House redefines what a recession is, imma white knuckle it through the next two years :coffee2:

Backing up @ClashAndBurn's post on this I don't have the patience to expand on right now.

Good luck everyone.

Fascinating signal flare from Republican consultants who see the reversal in Independents in the polling from Dobbs.

They'd at least have plausible deniability if Clarence wasn't so craven.

That said, more empty symbolism as he's not a state legislator, among other things.

A reminder that Texas law only outlaws same-sex sodomy.

Another reminder that Justice White in the Bowers v. Hardwick 1986 case infamously said, "The court has no opinion regarding heterosexual sodomy.” Expect another weave and dodge just like that as this debate moves forward.

Yes, please. Or at the very least, lower the Tulsi posts to twice a month. He posts about her far too often. If I didn't like you @rihannabiggestfanyou would be on my ignore list for the Tulsi posts alone. It's incredibly grating, bruv. :deadbanana4:

Honestly kind of love Republicans having to deal with The Consequences of Their Actions. It’s not often that they’re held accountable as agents to their own woeful decisions. Usually it’s some form of “why did Democrats make them do it/not stop them from doing it”. Even tho progressives did try a variation of that immediately post Dobbs. Thankfully, Pelosi’s House shifted the unhelpful conversations with the Jan 6 Cmte revelations and onslaught of civil rights legislation.

The fact that the Supreme Court is unambiguously conservative I think helps make that case very clearly.
