Does anyone else have a lot of MAGA family members?ย :chick3:ย Election years can be so sobering because it really comes out full force. Living in really red states makes these elections so much more anxiety inducing.

I live in a very red part of Virginia, so yes, I can relate to this feeling. My aunt and I actually stopped talking for about 3 years, and then, she passed from COVID. That has been hard to grapple with.

ย

But I've converted my mom to a full-blown Democrat. And my sister became socially liberal when I came out.ย

I've ruined many family dinners by speaking up.ย :gaycat6:

Liberals: A tight job market is the best indicator of a good economy and should be the only indicator used.ย

Yep. I am a blue dot in a very red state. People just assume I am Republican all the time.ย :rip:ย  I was raised by Christian conservative parents who voted Republican, but they never spoke out on their views compared to now. They were the kind of people who didn't even put political signs in the yard. My mom dabbled in some Q-anon things a couple years ago and she went full on conspiracy theorist 2020-2023. She isn't as bad now as she was those years, but she's still super MAGA and will bring up some crazy things at times. You can't tell her anything factual about Trump because she doesn't believe it. She's flying her Trump 2024 flag on the front of her house and has MAGA hats galore (coming from the people who wouldn't put a sign in their yard). It's like MAGA has made them full brain rot.ย :rip:ย I would love to see some psychology research studies in a few years over the whole shift in 2016.

Wonder if the Biden admin had preliminary data indicating the economy was about to turn sour and that was what would lead to him not having any path to continue. They wouldn't be able to run on "the best economy that America has ever seen" anymore at that point, and they genuinely had nothing else positive to run on.

Israel could prevent it by... not bombing Iran and Lebanon. Just sayin'.

You mean targeted killing of the billionaire who orchestrated the murder of 1,200 civilians and the kidnapping of hundreds - the greatest mass killing of Jews since the Holocaust - ย who openly acknowledged that he knew it would result in his people dying - all while he lived lavishly in safety miles away.ย

or the targeted killing of the man after he sent a missile killing 12 kids on a soccer field โ€” on top of leading the constant barrage of rockets on the country that has continued to leave the entire North of Israel uninhabitable, leaving thousands displacedโ€ฆ
